It’s pretty remarkable that Crossfire Premier is able to use their ECNL platform to deliver the product that USGDA promised and failed to deliver - elite soccer accessible to all regardless of ability to pay. Those families who flocked to thorns because of the promise of free soccer who are now paying thousands probably feel duped.

Yes. It’s a shame to see our Thorns teams fly a thousand miles to lose 9-0. Those teams need to show some mercy.

Isn’t the real question: where is the talent in one particular age group going? Thorns win/lose depending on age group, same as crossfire and FC Portland. Which club develops best? Which club offers the best opportunity? The answer is determined by where the talent goes and that varies for whatever reason based on age group.

The teams that can recruit the best talent get the best exposure. That's it. Not everyone is going to make the top team in every age group. Instead, find a team you can be a starter on and do outside training to work on the things the clubs don't train - especially technical. If you find you've outgrown your team and can handle a more challenging environment, move up to a stronger team. But don't let it backfire on you. It's better to be playing than sitting on the bench.
