OPL part deux is a bait-switch headed up by PSPL, MJ and the SCA guys. Idea is to make a second tier league and drag more teams to play up in Washington every other weekend with competition worse than OYSA division 2. All because the clubs in OPL can’t get into OYSA. The problem is Oregon and Washington teams won’t, and probably shouldn’t be traveling that much and staying in hotels during this pandemic. Especially if things worsen over late fall and winter. Stay home or stay local.

Competition is good, in any industry. Having a second option for clubs is a good thing. You can paint it any way you want, but that is undeniable.

These clubs don’t have enough teams in any single age group to have any semblance of of a league in Oregon:
Oregon United Football Club
Portland Community Football Club
FC Piamonte
Soccer Chance Academy
La Amistad Soccer Club
FC Coras
Cosmos
FC Genesis
IFC Huracan
Look at SCA. They have been dragging their teams up to Washington to play in PSPL already to play the 30th or 50th ranked teams in Washington. GPS was doing that two years ago as well. Any Oregon team wanting to play at most division 2 oysa level will be slotted in PSPL and spending weekends in Spokane. But hey, they will win a few so it’s worth it.
