Oregon is lucky to have a GDA team due to the Timbers/Thorns. Coming in after ecnl was already established made it tough. The politics and favoritism at ODP led to an even sparser pipeline to Thorns. Thorns players leaving to play hs is yet another punch to the gut of thorns gda. Thorns help subsidize costs when they don’t have to but weren’t willing to pay/charge more for the new Gda cup games that all the other GDA clubs are participating in. Despite being one of the few Gda that subsidize, Thorns teams have finished at the very bottom of their league but most players keep going back year after year so it can’t be that bad. Thorns Academy players are going on to play in college (although the misleading info about the Stanford bound girl is going as a student only, not recruited for soccer. Now Thorns are the only gda teams without links or rosters on the website. Hope this doesn’t mean numbers are too low. We should all be happy to have a subsidized gda option in Oregon. Helps keep ECNL and local travel teams fighting for market share. This is good for everyone.

(local clubs) Fighting for the 'market share' (of parents disposable income) for ostensibly useless full fare travel to play teams that resemble their own slim pickings. Pure madness.

All three paths have pros and cons and all can lead to the same end. It will be interesting to compare the 2020 commits (for soccer this time, Thorns Academy!) when college rosters come out in fall of 2020.

You didn't earn anything, women's soccer in college is the trickle down benefactor of American Male College Football, please do some research or tell yourself you earned based on playing ability. That's comical.

Saturday's games vs Placer have not been posted yet to the DA website, but two scores from Sunday's games:
