Tells us that Loomis is not a real contender this year and also that Nobles might not be as good as advertised since that seems to be their signature win so far.

If anything they are a bottom of the list team. Undefeated Lawrence and Groton probably deserve consideration over them and Brooks at this point in the season.

Many of the Class B schools spend much of their season playing "up" against Class A schools. One can argue that's a little like a NESCAC playing up against a DI. So the Class B schools' out-of-class games are likely to be tougher than the Class A schools' out-of-class games.
Some of the Class B's also play some Class C rivals. As an example, this year defending Class B Co-Champion Tabor plays "up" against Class A Brooks, Milton, Andover, Exeter and Worcester; "even" against Class B Wilbraham, Rivers, Pomfret, Cushing, and Dana Hall; and "down" against Class C Kimball Union, Wheeler, St. George's, St. Mark's, Southfield and Holderness (that last being their traditional end-of-season rivalry).
Complicating matters, there are some Class C schools that are arguably better than Class A or Class B schools: think Pingree vs. Miss Porter's. But on the whole, there is no "mystery" about the quality of competition the Class B's are facing.

Agree, which is why some of the top class B schools are probably better than advertised but a lot of the middle tier and lower tier class B teams are pretty weak.
