That's an entirely different discussion. Only D1 and D2 can give any athletic money and D2 is peanuts.

If that list, it's basically the ECNL D1 kids that are receiving true athletic scholarships and of those a majority are likely partials or combos with academic money.

If your chasing soccer dollars it's a very tight funnel.

An apples to apples would be comparing the top teams at each club.

Hell no. That many won't even be plsuing in college let alone getting money. You can't use CFC numbers to extrapolate to the entire state. It's one club with a high success rate. Many more have very little success and more none at all. In fact by senior year many have dropped out of club soccer because they won't be playing in college. Something like 8% of all high school players will play any kind of college soccer, D1 is less than 2%.

Scholarship money is a separate and complicated topic. Suffice it to say on average there's nor much money but top players will receive some, sometimes quite a bit.

What’s impressive is that CFC can put together teams with as many college commits as other clubs 1st teams. Goodwhi.

It has more to do with where these kids live and how deep their parents pockets are than what club they play for.

Sure. Talent isn't in the equation at all.

Glastonbury, Avon, West Hartford and surrounding envrons don’t have affluent parents and good students

Little surprised the CFC NPL team didn't have better placement. That's a whole lot of effort for three kids.

He never said talent was not a factor. That's your jump to conclusion here.

But it is a legitimate question.

How much of the average college commitment comes from soccer ability as opposed to location, area of study and financial capability?

Knowing that would certainly go far in determining the relative merit of one club's list against another's.

That's in the more to follow category. Lots of D3

They need to be admitted to the school before you can actually announce it.

It's probably not a shock that kids not on the the top team in the club don't get D1 looks.
