Wrong. There is one national pool team player on our roster.... The National Team is based out of California so I'm not surprised that they have multiple players on that team. Just like we have multiple players from ECNL- many teams we play- Tophat, Concorde... have national players on their teams that do ODP as well

The basis for Region III asking Florida to represent Region III was the play of the B team.

The B Team played B Teams in Alabama. The A team won all their games and lost 1 game by 1 point. The girls that went to Phoenix were not all the original A Team players. There were a few that were not on either the A or B team. The girls selected for Phoenix were players that the coach felt were competitive against a strong CA team. Its the same when coaches are select players for their colleges. We as parents do not know what they are looking for. Obviously the ODP coach made the right choice.

Seriously? I would say it was more of a crafty attack. Good coaching. Hard working girls. The attack on the FL beat down the World Cup Defense and got the goals. Soccer can go anyway with two strong teams. Florida winning 4-1 clearly makes them the better team this year! Great job to the ODP staff selecting the right combination of players.

ODP is an old but okay way for kids to have a chance face it not all play DA level and not all DA players get selected to anything . So if you play club and HS soccer try for ODP every chance is better then zero. ODP understands that not every kid can go to DA level but do not overlook players in club there are great ones and great ones at HS level as well haters can hate . Players of quality still are at club Level plenty of them.

California South won more!

PHOENIX, Ariz. (March 5, 2017) — Winners were crowned Sunday at the 2017 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Championships at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix, Ariz. Cal South took home two national titles, while Eastern Pennsylvania and Florida each added one apiece.
