You still don’t get it. No A team in ECNL... no ECNL. Crossfire has not made that decision yet.

GDA will be a true C league.

Crossfire was only allowed by ECNL to have teams in both leagues when they were a top ECNL club. Now that they've shown that they can't effectively compete in two leagues at the same time they no longer have any special status with ECNL. They've been told to make a decision, ECNL or GDA for next season. Word on the street in Redmond is that they are choosing ECNL, partly because the only other GDA team in the NW will be the Thornz and that's not really any competition even for Crossfire's RCL3 teams.

No way is Bernie going to go back to ECNL after investing so much money
in GDA. Xf used to have a monopoly in the Seattle-Bellevue area with ECNL and with
college exposure, but now that's gone. Xf does not have the best coaches, training, or
fields. xf recruit talent, not develop. xf had exclusivity with ECNL, but that's gone.

GDA for xf is about exclusivity about getting on YNT pool and maybe go to the YNT.
That's the niche product for wealthy families. Default minimum is college exposure, rarity is YNT exposure and fantasy is traveling YNT. With only Reign nearby, around
6-7 travel weekends + 1-2 showcase, not including summer tournaments. And no HS
or other sports. So about $6500 for just your kid. If you travel, double that easily.
Bernie makes about $200k per year, so he isn't in it for the kids.

Current xf ECNL teams are mostly B players. They are not xf ECNL from last year.
If you see their standings, it is unrecognizable from previous years.
So with 4 ECNL and possible another one up north of Seattle and two gda,
it is talent dilution. My understanding is that ECNL is forcing choice for the dual
clubs: DA or ECNL. So, all those xf ECNL will scatter among the ECNL teams.
Biggest benefactors will be PacNW and SU. xf is sorta f*cked by this.
So, if your dd is looking for college exposure, play hs and other sports, and
you do not want to travel 10+ weekends, then ECNL might be good for your kid.
YNT fantasies folks, go have fun.

This is a total fabrication. CU does not come close to meeting any of the qualifications.

You mean like some of the clubs that were created out of thin air last year for GDA....the only qualifications you needed were to submit a down payment. All others were negotiable.

Rumors elsewhere is that there are at least seven clubs dropping out - MI Hawks, PDA, LISC and MA Stars are the ones that keep being mentioned. If it's confined to mostly East Coast it's not fatal. But it it's further spread it's not good news.

What ever happened with that rumor that 25 CA clubs were going to form their own league? More Talking Soccer folklore?

That rumor was pure BS pushed by anti-ECNL clubs . . . however, GDA is in risk of being a So Cal + a handful of other clubs (maybe a small sliver in Frontier division as well).

I honestly would be shocked if Crossfire leaves GDA though - they have consolidated major talent up there. Reign is going down in flames (no pun intended) - no funnel, no subsidy; they have some good players at the younger ages, but the end of the Seattle United pipeline + very expensive program surrounded by good competition is going to be a problem.

In this region, travel costs are going down for ECNL and going up for GDA (before subsidy).

Some strong teams leaving GDA next year.

                          Hawks
                          Eclipse
                          Stars
                          PDA
                          Sting
                          Crossfire
                          Slammers

Crossfire Premiere is committed to DA for Boys and Girls. If you don’t believe start following the tweets.

Crossfire is going to hurt. If they go ECNL, the GDA will be the new ECNL teams and the
old ECNL will bail out to other ECNL clubs. If they pick GDA and have to let ECNL go,
then they will lose all of the ECNL teams to other ECNL clubs.
We are talking about 100 girls across age groups. Enough to fill the ranks of two ECNL clubs. Reign still has Eastside, but who knows how long?

3 in-state and 2 in Portland within 3 hours of driving ain't that bad.
                              plus hs, multi-sports, and odp.
