2017 OR State Cup Brackets & Seedings

Can anyone shed some light regarding how the 2017 State Cup brackets and seedings were determined. I was under the impression that it was based upon results from the fall and/or spring seasons? Apparently this is not the case.

    Based on fall seedings.

    Seeding order was:

    1) FC (#1 premier green)
    2) Crossfire (#2 premier green)
    3) ADF (#3 permier green)
    4) Copa (#4 premier green)
    5) Bend (#5 premier green)
    6) IFC (#6 premier green)
    7) ETFC (#7 premier green)
    8) 4H (#8 premier green)
    9) CFC (#1 premier white)
    10) WT FC Red 1 (#2 premier white)
    11) PCU (#3 premier white)
    12) LYS (#4 premier white)
    13) RVT (#5 premier white)
    14) Corvallis (#6 premier white)
    15) NEU (#8 premier green; #7 team 4H Arsenal Genaro did not enter state cup)
    16) BSC (#2 Division 1 Green; #1 team WT FC Red 2 did not enter state cup)
    17) SSC (#3 Division 1 greent)
    18) Samba (#6 Division 1 green)
    19) IFC Cuervos (did not play fall league)

Teams were then sorted into groups in the following order:

    A B C D E E B C D A A B C D E E D C B [a]. The [a] indicates where a 20th team would have been seeded.

Most age groups didn't have standard seeding selection. Apparently no one cares because all the players that matter are in DA, Ecnl or Thorns Academy. Doesn't matter if Rec soccer is seeded correctly or fairly.

Damn....you are so delusional. Privileged and delusional....an apt description of DA, ECNL and TA.

Then lay out how you saw it seeded with how it differs from what someone else shared.

You want to be the expert, then show s what you know.

The above listed seeding was for the 2005 boys U12 age group. They were seeded correctly. Now, there were also 19 teams let in...would have been nice to either have had 16 or 20....and clearly, there were 4 teams in that age group that had no business being in the tourney (RVT, NEU, Southside, and Samba) and a 5th that was full of illegal players (ICF Crows). But, 16 for pool play would have been right. FCP and Wash Timbers were placed in an unfair bracket. And the reality is that the Timbers did this deliberately. That is the real problem with OYSA. It is the Timbers League, and they ha e proven time and time again that they are morally corrupt.

The OP is correct. I just looked at the brackets in our own & other brackets. The seeding is supposed to be based on Fall results (or Winter for HS ages). Based on the brackets, that's NOT how teams were seeded. My kids play oysa also and I think it's wrong but it seems the powers that be don't care about making it standard/fair.

Seeding is supposed to be based on Fall results.period. Looks like someone seriously tampered with u12.

No, look again. BU12 seeding is EXACTLY how it should have been.

The thing some people don't understand is the "zipper" ordering. The first group of teams is seeded in order. The second group of teams is seeded in REVERSE order. The third seed line is again in normal order, the fourth in reverse order, etc.

I don't know about any other groups (if you are asking about GU12, I've no clue).

This is what happens in a monopoly, folks. Their league, their fees, their rules. Keep rooting for ECNL to fail. Keep putting all your eggs in the Timbers/Thorns basket. You'll get exactly what you deserve.

Fall Results? Definitely not the case with the 06,05, and 04 girls. Any one have any insight on these groups?

This is correct. Zipper seeding has been used everywhere for a long, long time.

This has nothing to do with ECNL. Why do you think everything has something to do with ECNL? No one gives a flying pie about the pathetic Oregon ECNL teams. Rich white girls club who can't win a game to save their lives. Stick to your lame ECNL threads.

One team in 05G was not even a premier level team. Not sure what happened there.

For 06G, LO participated. They did not play in the fall and won only 1 match in the spring that being against a team that did not win any matches. Why was LO allowed into the cup and placed in a bracket that did not contain the top seed?
