    Timbers boys da

Da coachs treat players like crap . They yell and curse at the boys throughout practice and games . There has been several boys that have left because of this treatment. These coachs are not professional as they claim . Belittle a player doesn't make him better just makes them quit. High turn over coming these tryouts.

Where are you getting your information? This is a much more competitive environment. Some player that have been told they are great all the time can't take it and say things like; The coaches curse at me, they don't like me. Quite often this is the players that are not quite up to the level. They are disappointed and looking for excuses. The top players don't go anywhere. They stay they play and the best play up.

The expectations are greater. The pace is faster. The competition for playing time is much greater. Some players, very good players can't take the environment and thats OK. However, the Timbers DA is the best environment in Oregon to develop high level players.

Players leave because they don't get to play. They don't get to play because they have not earned it at that level. If you have a kid leaving because his feelings were hurt because the coach was made at him what are the expectations for the real world when a boss is made?

Little mommy's boy is not cut out to make it as a professional. Few from Oregon are good enough, but that isn't uncommon on the boys side, even at young ages.

This is a game and these kids should be having fun. There is no reason it cannot be fun even at the highest level of play.

It is fun for those who play and can take criticism. Those who have been told they are great there whole life and are now hearing they are not good enough are not having fun. Thats how it works. Those who can't get frustrated don't have fun and quit.

Niall of them can have fun. It is a program to push them on coddle them

I have been out to a number of academy games I have never heard any player getting cursed at or belittled.

Big difference between pushing a player to reach his potential vs just being a di**. Most top players don't mind being tough as long as it's fair. Some of these kids are just that - kids.
And screaming just for the sake of screaming does nothing but wear on your vocal cords. Kids tune out the message after awhile, like the teacher on Charlie Brown specials.

I'm speaking in generalities, not necessary with Timbers.

What a load of nonsense!! So you have to be a D**k or a Bi**h to win? If you are one of these then it usually comes with a bad attitude and crazy parents. No team building with these types of characters. You can get away with it at Golf or Tennis but not a team sport.

Are you talking about the actual Portland Timbers DA, or one of the Alliance clubs 04 DA's?

We need more Victor G. Coaching DA teams. He gets the players attention right quick!
