So, question remains. Do these "studies" verify the commentary, or just typical TS blabber?
Please allow me to help, as I think TS should be a mutually supportive community
Here is the definition of anecdotal https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/anecdotal
(of an account) not necessarily true or reliable, because based on personal accounts rather than facts or research.

Here is the definition of analogous https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/analogous
Comparable in certain respects, typically in a way which makes clearer the nature of the things compared

Given the context in which you used it - notably accusing poster of not citing a study, but rather sharing a personal experience - Do you still maintain that "Analogous" was the more appropriate word? If so, can you speak for the other poster and let us know what comparative you think he was using?

To make things right with the TS world, let's just say
    a) poster should not have stated "lots of studies" as you judiciously pointed out, and should maybe have stated "I've seen many examples and hears lots of stories of ...."

    b) You are happy demanding others meet standards that you are unable to maintain yourself.

Have a nice day you pseudo intellectual. I'm going back to the couch and scratch my Taint

Or, when called out, one continued to double-down, while another agreed it was an error.

Make sure you give that index finger a deep sniff when you are done.

Good to know you are familiar with the practice.

Props to Taint Scratcher. This is almost as good as Matt Damon's "how bout them apples" scene
