Sorry midget, but a good tall player is always better than a good short player because they can head higher balls before the other team. Short players are only fill ins until a tall player that can do the same thing can be found.

Outside backs, wingers, attacking mids and various forward positions don't need to be tall. In fact a lower center of gravity is better when you're attacking. There are a ton of examples out there starting with Messi, Maradona, Romario etc...

Nope. Maradona, Suarez, Kante, Allen, Vilakazi, there are a bunch of them both past and present. Height does not matter much in soccer with one exception - heading the ball into the goal on corner kicks. Of course tall people also give up a lot when it comes to tackling and ball control.

Even Mascherano who's not tall plays CB at Barcelona. If you're good you're good. Height is not important in soccer if you have skills and are reasonably fast. Just give me 2 average to tall CB who are at least agile and maybe one tall CF depending on your formation. The rest can be leprechauns for all I care...
