Not the guy you are responding to. I get your points and I think Obama was bad for business and created an anti-business environment. I agree. However, as another member of the "business class," even though trump will put more jingle in my pocket, I feel he has lowered the office of the president to levels that are to me completely unacceptable. the "twitter" president is unacceptable to me. if POTUS is not acting like an adult, what hope do we have for the rest of society? POTUS spending his morning taking twitter shots at his enemies is a deal breaker. I am someone who thinks HOW you accomplish your goals is as important as the accomplishment. Process matters. Trump has tarnished the presidency by making it a platform for his petty squabbles. And to boot he's not even eloquent. his tweets are on par with a 6th grade education. don't know how a few extra bucks in your tax return blinds you so much.

A patriotic american believes in and wishes to promote civil discourse on the topics that are of national concern or interest. why? because civil discourse strengthens democracy. democracy viewed as the opposite of tyranny is what most concerned our founding fathers. it is profoundly and deeply american to be concerned about democracy and about where the twitter president is taking our country.

Both Trump and his personal lawyer Michael Cohen have previously denied that the president had any knowledge of a $130,000 payment Cohen has admitted to making to adult film star Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, just weeks before the 2016 election. The payment was made as part of a non-disclosure agreement to silence Daniels’s allegations that she had an affair with Trump in 2006. Trump, though, changed his tune Thursday on what he knew about the arrangement.

“Michael would represent me, and represent me on some things. He represents me, like with this crazy Stormy Daniels deal, he represented me,” Trump said. “And you know from what I see, he did absolutely nothing wrong.”

I'd actually prefer a savior that leans conservative, but at this point I'd settle for a rational leader from either party that listens to advice, appoints people based on competence not loyalty, frees himself from blatant conflicts of interest, demonstrates respect for the truth (in other words, not a pathological liar), and doesn't try to twist every public communication into an opportunity to kiss his own ass.

• That Comey has "been leaking for years. ... He did an illegal act and he said it himself in order to get a special counsel against me. ... He is guilty of crimes."
• His longtime "fixer" Michael Cohen, who was recently raided by the FBI, is invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in connection with an adult film star's lawsuit "because he's got other things, he's got businesses. ... But I'm not involved." Besides, Cohen only did "a tiny, tiny little fraction" of the legal work Trump needed.
• Investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 election are a "witch hunt" that have placed a "phony cloud" over him.
• He deserves an "A-plus" grade thus far in his presidency.
• "You look at the corruption at the top of the FBI. It's a disgrace."
• Trump's nominee to run the Department of Veterans Affairs withdrew because Sen. Jon Tester, who revealed serious questions about his performance as White House physician, was motivated by politics.
• Trump's Justice Department, which oversees the most important probe, is filled with people "who shouldn't be there," and thus the President is "disappointed" in the department's performance.
• Trump failed to acknowledge his wife's birthday with a present because "I'm very busy to be running out looking for presents, OK?"

This is a man backed in a corner, who probably senses that the end is very near. Sad.
