Thanks for posting. There are a lot of good teams playing in this event at all ages and on the boys and girls side.

Wow--that pretty much wipes out the field from MYSA. Must be costing MYSA a lot of $$$. So MYSA State Cup essentially becomes a MAPLE championship? Too bad, really. State Cup was the one place left where all teams could compete to determine a single state-wide champion.

Yes, the MYSA state cup based on the teams listed here will be a second ranked tournament. Regional and Nationals will be a different question. Some clubs in other states will do both and there are still a lot of top level clubs that stayed USYSA in other states. Just makes for more dilution of club soccer.

They still can. US Club State Cup is open to MYSA members unlike the MYSA State Cup.

What was the rationale for this? Just $$$$? The State Cup was the one thing that MYSA generally handled correctly. It didn't cost too much per team, and gave every team a fair shot at a state championship.

But the lists above don't seem to include any of the decent non-NEP clubs, like SSS or Blazers. Are those teams in this tourney too?

Are you certain about that? It does not seem that US club would allow non-members to compete in their state cup

Thank god us club has the better state cup field. Do you really want to travel to that dump in West Virginia to play regionals? It's even worse than the dump fields regionals were played on at URI last year. At least us club insists on nice venues for its events. Us youth should be embarrassed at the URI and WV fields.

This is the list, any club not listed is not playing.

I don't know where the state cup games are being played, but Regionals will be at Forekick in Taunton.

It looks like one of PTs MAPLE team is playing in one of the boys brackets, so I suppose this tourney was open to non NEP teams. That's the only one I see, however.

Yes, the US Club Soccer tournament was open to all clubs not just US Club Soccer. I doubt that any will because they are so far up MYSA and MAPLE that they did not see that part of the application.

I am sure that the DOC's at the MAPLE clubs knew of the ability to play US Club, but opted for the easier path in the regular state cup. It will be very easy for a smaller club to make regionals now!

As someone from Region 2 Ohio that follows this forum it's unfortunate that the USYSA won't have Region 1's best teams. On the flip side, just know that U.S. Club won't have Region 2's best teams. Frustrating for top teams across the country that want to compete against each other that youth soccer can't get this figured out.

I thought the NPL teams were in a 'league of their own' and were not playing state cup but in their own regional and national pool.
