So you think 1% having more than 50% of the world's total wealth (and climbing) is a good thing? You think that is a great strategy for global peace, not to mention internal national peace and equilibrium?

The liberal left has a fundamental lack of confidence in their fellow man. They think people are incapable, helpless and in need of constant care, and financial support. Due to this thinking they talk about "fairness" and redistribution of wealth. In essence large government to help all of those that require it.

The Republicans have a general belief that people are talented and capable. They believe that people are resourceful, smart, and are very capable of taking care of themselves and their families. They believe in allowing people opportunities to thrive without burdensome government interference and onerous taxes.

This is not "Haves vs. Have Nots" as much as it is whether you believe people are capable or incapable.

You must be a college professor. Go back to your nice theoretical world with your tenured position. But sometime in your life spend some time EARNING a living

Your kids must have decided to forego college--rather than waste their time, or worse, with useless PhD professors who hardly work but would point out stupid, fact-free non sequiturs.

What an attractive summary of the Republican stance. Always thinking of others and building bridges instead of blowing them up.

In essence, be as selfish and self-centered as possible.

Keep hope alive, my friend. I hear Romney is in play again, LOL. Please make sure he keeps the dog off the roof rack this time.

Love when the Libs get bit in the ass by their own "big govt" policies. Attached is the uproar at Harvard regarding healthcare premiums being adjusted as a result of Obamacare. Redistribution of wealth is only good if it applies to Republicans!

The State of the Union is gonna be great. Hope and Change! Hope and Change!

Harry Reid, Pelosi, Biden giving standing ovations about an agenda that has no chance.

I hope the teleprompter is working. He sucks when he actually has to think.

The real problem with this country is losers who troll for opportunities to interject mindless political wingeing into ever conversation they can. They don't think, they just spout whatever talking point fed to them by whatever media ****** or spin doctor confirms their beliefs.

Why don' t find a knitting forum and stir up crap there.

Totally agree. Bunch of political idiots.

Getting back to soccer, this thread proves that most of the people on this site don't really follow professional soccer. To answer a few questions from the previous soccer posts:

                          * Juan Agudelo could not get a work permit in the UK because he did not have enough national team caps. The UK work permit system is very strict. So there was no issue with his fitness. He's a good player who hopefully finds a team soon. He could come back to the MLS if he wanted to but he is hoping to play in Europe.

                          * Sunderland paid Jozy Altidore $3.2 million per season. But keep in mind that most UK salaries are after taxes. So if Jozy is making $6 million per season (BEFORE tax) to play for Toronto, as has been reported, than the salaries are not that much different. Love him or hate him, Jozy is a quality player and should do well in the MLS. Sunderland is a brutal team in a tough league so it's hard to blame Jozy completely for his lack of scoring. That said, he certainly should have had more than 2 goals over two seasons as a forward.

I appreciate the effort but that is old news about Agudelo. It seems very strange that he has not played anywhere for a long time now. As though he is persona non grata for some reason. I would've thought the permit thing was worked out before he left the MLS. Just seems weird and it's frustrating because he is such an exciting and gifted player. A man among boys while in the MLS. Much better striker than Altidore IMHO.

I also like Juan. Here's an article from 2 days ago explaining his history and also asking about his plans. Guys in limbo at this point. He should be playing somewhere. I believe New England still holds his MLS rights if he ever decides to come back to the US.
