Hopefully he can land a spot that has a better working environment.

Agreed it's a terrible life lesson - I'd be like "Kid you were lucky to get out of this legally and be allowed to stay in school. Soccer? Too bad. Get your sh*t together or you're not coming back next year"
Coach seems like an idiot. There are ways to get rid of kids.

How about......no playing time? They can go to ad, but you aren’t going to have a lawsuit filed against you and lose it. I can come up with 10 reasons why a kid doesn’t get playing time that you can’t challenge.

Kid would eventually quit. If not, it isn’t as if she was really part of the team. Big deal, she worked out with them and got her name on the website. ChNces are she already had the varsity letter if she was at least a sophomore

OR...hear me out...a coach can decide who he does and doesn't want on a team? If a player is causing discord, isn't living up to expectations or is disobeying team rules a coach should be able to cut them. There's no athletic $ here requiring him to keep her. You don't think the family wouldn't go after him for no PT also? They sure sound the type.

A step down on the coaching ladder to go from D1 to small D3. also hasn't been at Marist that long and it's not like it's that far away.

Alum or not, would be a giant step back for a young lady with aspirations ... no chance it will be LH.

Dumb post. She caught a great break getting a D1 HC job at a young age. Now needs to build the program, show that she can handle recruiting\finances and find success in the conference and/or achieve an NCAA berth.

Aspiring young coaches don’t move to D3 to be closer to home. She’s in great spot and will lead a bigger program some day

That's a move that makes far more sense than someone stepping backwards from a new D1 spot.

I don’t believe WCSU coach is in Mix at all. Top choices are L from Marist. OB former FU coach and ZS former UConn Assistant

It's not about the quality of the team but the career ladder. Success in small D1 leads to big D1. Going to D3 is a step backwards. The only time you do that is if you are an assistant coach in D1 and are taking a head coach job D3 - or your are floundering in D1 and are taking a lifeline to salvage your career. Since she's been there a short time there's no indication this is the case.

What makes you even think you have a clue as to what you are talking about?

Same question to you. The OP has stated a motel logical career path than you have done so far.
