Your fact about a town team some of them cost just as much if not more. Maybe just maybe we like Kurt and Heiner training our kids how to play the game of soccer. Yes, I have asked my kid about leaving there response “I love playing here and I don’t want to leave”! Why force them. Nothing is forever and one day he/she will have to move on.
