    Different RTC training amount

Why do the Portland North girls group get more training hours than everyone else? Happened last year too. And puts everyone else at a real disadvantage.

It's a disadvantage for those who care about making the state team

Because they are the farthest behind in their bootball skills? Need to catch up with some awesome Timbers coaching.

I agree Timbers coaching could be better. But we also can surely agree it's still much better than any other option. Clearly, undebatable.

            It's very simple, newbie parent:

RTC is a scam. Its primary goal is to take as many kids as possible, collect fees from them, and use those fees to underwrite the boys DA. They do this by minimizing training expenses. In addition, they already know who they want for the state team. Mostly Portland area girls with a smattering from around the state to appease the masses. You are lucky to get any training sessions. In the future it might just be a tryout, roster published, gear received, then show up for state tryout. My DD's last year had several sessions cancelled and one that was on a grass field in pitch dark and cancelled after 30 minutes (we drove 70 minutes to get there). Now that I think of it, you are probably lucky NOT to be having very many sessions.

Your kid must play for a terrible coach if you think RTC coaches are better. Yikes.

Considering that your club kept trying to get him to come coach for them, says a lot about your club then.

There's no talent anywhere else. They will take the occasional player from an outlying area. That way the rest will still think they have a chance and will keep paying the fees year after year.

Well, my kid plays for the CU ECNL team, so you may be right.

Aside from the questionable "disadvantage" argument, non Portland RTC players are getting fewer hours for the same fee. The last year our DD did RTC we calculated how much we paid per hour of practice. It was quite expensive because her RTC sessions were on Sunday's meaning we missed part of some sessions and one entire session due to club games. They also canceled one session due to weather (we were told it would be rescheduled and it never was) and cut one short because the geniuses running the program didn't realize how early it gets dark in late October and scheduled a session on a grass field in Salem with no lights.

Portland players pay the same fee and get more hours of training. And you suckers that continue to ride the RTC train allow it to happen.

One more thing related to my comment about practices being on Sunday's. Every single year since the RTC gravy train launched, boys sessions have been on Fridays and girls on Sunday's. So boys never miss sessions due to club games. Girls (even Portland area girls) do all the time. If the brain trust running this scam cared even one iota about providing a quality experience, they would alternate and have boys do Friday one year and Sunday the next. But they are probably too stupid to think of that solution.

My DD is in the vancouver RTC for the second year in a row. Both the boys and girls practice on Friday nights. There are disadvantages to Friday night training though. Tired legs for the Saturday morning games happens each week.

I still think vancouver has picked the best possible day though.

Vancouver RTC killed everyone at the tourney last year so they must be doing something right.
                            Money well spent here

Yeah, right. What have you been smoking. Timbers coaching is horrible at ALL levels, at all clubs. Pay the big coin, get the Timbers patch on your jersey. Fools the low information folks every time.
