Worst boys academy in the MLS, but hey, the 18s only lost by 6 to Sacramento Republic last weekend.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostYes, but let's not be disingenuous. You can have a kid who trains hard and at the highest level possible. She can have straight A's and a laundry list of high school accomplishments. She can have the DESIRE to be seen by scouts or coaches. But if you can't get her to the events where those coaches go, it's all for naught. You can't play on a rec team or a low level team and get to events like Surf Cup or big showcase events where coaches go. So while yes, the club doesn't "put" the kid in college, they provide the opportunity for the kid to perform at the events where he or she needs to go to be seen.
They were a little more prudent and wise with their travel dollars and weren't forced to travel just for the sake of travel.
Funny how history tells the whole truth, whereas making up stories about playing in a league that doesn't match our caliber of local player is the best route, akin to 'the rec team or low level team playing in the Surf cup or big showcase.' = Oregon local clubs playing in the ECNl.
Perfect.
