No. What would be biased would be if the all-boys schools were free, and the all-girls schools required paying tuition to attend. Sort of like DA and GDA.

So girls pay full fare many thousands and boys pay $0? How is that fair?

Same reason NBA players make a heck of a lot more than WNBA players. Men's sports are more popular and make more money. If women's pro soccer can make as much as the men's side & clubs can sell the rights to their female players, GDA might be free. Actually, most DAs aren't free either.

I think you are absolutely right Oregon Soccer is Biased. Biased towards girls. In oregon there are two top level programs now offered, ECNL and GDA. There is only one for boys. ECNL has been around the longest as well.

You are all ridiculous. Be thank for any and all opportunities your children receive and realize it is a game for fun. A small number will play in College in some form and level and less then .1% will play after that.

Teach your children life is not and never will be fair. Work hard so if and when opportunity knocks you are ready. There is no suck thing as luck. There is hard work and preparation for the moment that might or might not ever happen.

Absolutely true!! The only part I disagree with is the comment on 'Top level programs'. Top level does not include Oregon soccer. Even though your post is correct about teaching our children life lessons, a lot of parents today do not know how to do that. It's a façade for most parents and Oregon soccer typifies that mind set. We convince ourselves that it's OK to pay thousands to soccer clubs that have no plan. Our children do not stay in the game long enough to develop because of s&%tty coaching. The people running the soccer clubs (not just in OR) have no vision and do not have the skills to teach their staff. We have board members that are on the board because their child plays at the club. We do not choose a board based on strengths of an individual. When a DOC is hired, they are not held accountable and are able to BS the board members. This is what happened at THUSC for 15 years (They finally did the right thing but then hired the exact same personality as the guy they got rid of) The game od Soccer in OR is the worst. No club or person has proved otherwise. When will this be fixed? OYSA needs to pull away from the Timbers. The Timbers are the demise of youth soccer in the area. I have had enough!!
