More bad news for Dems.
Consumer confidence rises in October to highest level since 2000
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/am...ump-2018-10-30
The US has the only economy in the world that is doing well
https://www.cnbc.com/video/2018/10/3...trategist.html
Wages and salaries jump by 3.1%, highest level in a decade
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/31/wage...k&par=sharebar
If you want to reverse that trend, by all means vote for Democrats. That will surely increase the likelihood of Trump's reelection in 2020.

Actually a good economy can also breed complacency. Turnout/ motivation will drive this midterm cycle

Trump has gone off the rails with his race baiting and fear mongering today. A new racist ad implying all immigrants are criminals, another calling Dems dangerous mobs. Wants 15,000 troops at the border to stop a few thousand asylum seekers (many are women and children) and now says troops can fire on them if they "throw rocks or sticks (They can't btw. All they can at the border is assist with local law enforcement and Border Control). That crap works with his base but he's losing what few independents were supportive of him two years ago. He's beyond desperate.

Dumb Traitorous Cons
In the survey, 11% of people who identify as Republican or lean Republican say it’s “appropriate” for Russia to help Republicans keep control of Congress in the upcoming elections. Another 29% say it’s “not appropriate, but wouldn’t be a big deal” for the Russians to help. So combined, 40% of Republicans either approve of Russian interference, or don’t strongly object to it.

Remember when General Bonespurs said it's too costly to keep troops in South Korea? But now we need 15,000 on the southern border to stop a few thousand mostly women and children from applying for asylum (if they even make it that far in two months). Meanwhile NK still has nukes and troops and the same half-cocked leader.

I also appreciate how SK is very happy with the progress is going with NK. All good except for the panty-twisters.

The U.S. and South Korea have spent almost seven decades honing their preparedness for war. Now fears are growing among the alliance’s proponents that extended peace talks are eroding that advantage.
Defense chiefs from the two nations will gather for an annual meeting in Washington on Wednesday facing a radically changed landscape after President Donald Trump’s decision to restart nuclear negotiations with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. While those discussions put off the prospect of a conflict, Trump has also canceled major military exercises to facilitate the detente.
Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis and his South Korean counterpart Jeong Kyeong-doo must now find a way to maintain a robust defense without providing regular, real-world simulations for troops that tend to rotate through every couple of years. Trump’s statements calling the exercises “war games” and echoing Kim by calling them “provocative” makes them harder to restart as long as nuclear talks drag on.
“Without the joint military training, there will be an alliance, but a much weaker one,” said Kim Ki-ho, a defense professor at Kyonggi University and a former colonel who oversaw military operation planning at Combined Forces Command. “It’s a North Korea strategy to dissolve the alliance.”
