Kids and parents are getting sick from school, or activities outside of club sports.

this is terrible news for the kids who have already had a terrible year.

we need to deal with the fact that kids need to go to school and kids need to remain active, they simply cant stay inside 100% of the time, it isn't health.
Where I live all the cases that are happening in high school kids are being attributed to non-school sports. There has been one case of transmission happening in school. It may be that instead of telling contact tracers that kids are going to parties, they are saying sports practice though.

Sports indoors and outdoor has been going on since phase 2 with no issues. They are using sports as an excuse

Ecnl is under US Club soccer not CJSA.

Same. We've had some HS cases but it's kids hanging out together in homes, not at school or school sports (which are done for the fall now anyway). Indoor HS sports for the winter were already put on hold, but no reason the kids can't be outside (weather permitting). There's such little risk and almost no teammate to teammate transmission and none team-to-team

There are some outdoor “friendlies” at FSA on Sat and Sun. Are these games happening or not? Haven’t heard for sure one way or the other.

As most of you have probably already heard, Governor Lamont held a press conference yesterday and has suspended all sports activities (except college and professional) through January 19th; this includes both High School and Club. The Governor set the date of Monday, November 23rdhowever, after discussions with the Governor’s Office, the request was that we suspend all such sanctioned activities effective immediately and not wait until Monday.

In conclusion, effective immediately, there are no sanctioned (official permission or approval) CJSA activities (there is NO CJSA insurance in place) of ANY kind until further action by the Governor on this topic, which we anticipate will be on or around January 19th.

With this 2 month shutdown of sports that will make 5 months of 10 that sports have been shutdown. March 2020 - Jan 2021

This will kill sports and kids.

It's two months with an end in sight. Stop being doom and gloom all the time. What the hell are you going to complain about when Covid is in the rearview mirror? And, nothing is stopping your kid from working out or practicing on his own, do some small group play at parks. Just don't let it look "organized"

Wow your math is off. The total lockdown was Mid march to mid June, four months. Most clubs had trainings (on line, yes) March until June. Your kid could play in the yard and at many parks around the state even during lock down, let alone after June. Kids were able to play games end of June until now, club and high school. There's normally not much practicing going on Mid November until after the holidays and even fewer games. Not a year. Not ideal, but stop blowing things up.

If the numbers go in the right direction they probably will ease up again but it won't be indoors unless it really goes back down.

what is the mortality rate for kids in these age groups from the china virus? Now what is the suicide rate since the pandemic began in these same age groups? Follow the science...

Show us the teen suicides that can be directly linked to Covid. Teen commit suicide for many reasons.

You seem worried about your kids. Maybe you should talk to them, even seek professional help, rather than whine on Talking Soccer all day long.

We have a full practice schedule... maybe your kid only plays crappy high school soccer but others play year round. ECNL had games scheduled in December and January. Educate yourself before you respond.

I work with kids every day and talk to them and if you don't think there have been major issues with kids dealing with loneliness, depression, abuse and other things due to this pandemic then you must have been hiding in the basement with joe...I am happy for you that your child has fared well through this all but please do not pretend that this has not had many negative effects on our children
