As it is with schools, pay to play/attend, know many whose kid could not get into a name brand school without daddy or mommy footing bill. Welcome to 21st America, not the land of opportunity unless you are wealthy.
What if you get in with no bill
What does mommy and daddy do then?
Being awarded an athletic scholarship and merit money has nothing to do with your personal finances. There is no financial aide application required to receive the scholarships. Actually the player is awarded those if they are a high level recruit ( coaches only have a certain number to hand out) and on academic side kid has a strong gpa and test scores. Let us know when you’re kid gets recruited.

There are rules on how athletic, FA and merit$ can be stacked.
Is this a competition? If so, what's the criteria to judge the winner? What is the point of wining? What if all the kids from all the clubs that wanted to get into college and play, actually did that? Who is the winner then

Life is a competition. Clubs view it as a competition. Lots of commitments from a club is used by parents as one barometer of which club to spend their tens of thousands of dollars on for training over the next several years. Naturally a club with many commitments checks a box on the parents list. A club with none or one or 2 is put at a disadvantage. And big money is at stake.
