Referee's being given contradictory information on Covid Protocols

Over the last two days the referees have been given conflicting instructions on Covid protocols. In some cases they have been instructed to only police the field and technical area and to let the games be played regardless and in some cases they have been instructed to also police the spectators and to terminate matches over non-compliance by anyone at the facility.

Expect a lot of chaos this weekend.

There was a LISRA zoom meeting Thursday night where they said one thing. Then there was an e-mail sent out by NYCSL that said another. Then LIJSL put their two cents in contradicting that. That was followed by Arbitersports sending out more severe instructions that were again contradicted hours later by an e-mail from gameofficials (ENY State Office) that backed off from much of what was just said by Arbiter. This is all being driven by NY State officials that are demanding a hard crackdown on people walking around unmasked.

The refs on the field are going to be left holding the bag on this one.

well after my kids attend 3 games this weekend it was business as usual. no BS about masks and the referees. everyone was pretty much in compliance just as we all have been since the beginning of the season.

It seams like all these emails about the referees acting as "covid police" was all BS to look good on paper.
