These players will come back in droves when SCA and others launch their US Club league. It is rumored that many local club DOC's want to so badly be part of this. SCA in the lead taking Portland to soccer heights they never experienced as players but dreamed of while running with the soccer pack.

Sorry for the pause I had to throw up

Then with all of the youth soccer players in the area playing under the SCA banner the entire Timbers organization will walk out because of the quality of the "SCA Pack". NASA will launch SCA staff members in space ships to find other life forms and teach them the SCA way.

    Or

No one will care and we will continue on as normal.

      That would be funny.

Nope. Portland Timbers do not have teams in the OYSA league. OYSA, by law as of April 2019 cannot have “for profit” clubs in their state leagues. USYSA is dropping the hammer on state associations. OYSA’s hands are tied.

Wait, so any Timbers affiliate club is no longer eligible for OYSA leagues?

            Nope.

All Timbers affiliates are 501C3’s. Unlike SCA who has no BoD or the brainpower to understand how the soccer landscape works here. While they might be above average coaches they are terrible business men. Run!

For profit Portland Timbers are involved with OYSA how? That would be helpful to understand.

This question explains a lot if they are associated with SCA.

This is the SCA business model. Collect a bunch of money from hard from Oregonians and then try to figure out how to run a soccer club. Normally, before you start collecting checks you have this figured out.

The timber’s teams DO NOT play in the oysa leagues and never have so it doesn’t matter if they are a for profit. Stop bringing them up or asking about them, as it just makes you look like a fool

Didn’t the Timbers hire an OYSA employee and then take over running OYSA leagues? Why did they do that? The Timbers are for profit and OYSA has a rule relating to for profits?

This is interesting. Spill the details OYSA.

No way. That did not happen.

Yes it happened by design. OYSA doesn't want to run leagues it sanctions them. Under OYSA there are many sanctioned leagues. The Timbers administer the Portland Timbers and Thonrs league. This is different than being a club having teams. This might be a shock but some clubs have teams in different sanctioned OYSA leagues. Oh, did I just blow your mind !

This is none of your business. Stop bringing it up! This topic is outside your pay grade.

Love the deflection and misinformation SCA, but the Timbers will still be here in a couple of years and you won’t mate.

Either the poster above is incompetent or has not had the time to read through this entire thread. I’m hoping it’s the latter. The Portland Timbers do not have any teams in the league‘s. The Portland Timbers are a for-profit entity but they do not have teams are playing our leagues. SCA on the other hand has zero business sense to be able to start a club that follows the guidelines of the state association . SCA is a for profit entity with no active BoD overseeing what these muppets are doing. There are no checks and balances.
