So this age group might be the most difficult to figure out. Anybody make sense of US Academy, FPL, FSPL teams? Seems like a mess to sort out if you have a son/daughter who can play at a high level. Anyone have thoughts to add?

Your son needs to commit to being the best player he can be or choose to stay with his friends. At some point, even if it's not academy, he will likely have to leave his buddies to further his "career". Can't do both, but neither choice is "wrong". Just a personal decision.
Region "A" and Region "B" do have quality Academy teams in Weston and OCYS. Players in those regions should be encouraged to play DA but Region "C" players are better off avoiding the Academy teams.

And what qualifies you to be evaluating either?

Also saw the Clearwater academy team and am pretty sure they are stronger than TBU U-14. Either way whatever makes the kids/parents happy. It's all good.
