Members of the committee and advisory board feel this is what is behind Bakers recent change. MIAA is on track to soon announce no fall sports unless we can get them to reassess.

Whoever is in charge of this effort should also be asking the question, why are dance studios allowed open? My friend's D dances 4 nights a week, in a crowded studio, using contact in dances, and are preparing for a competition next month. Yet my son can't play soccer outside??

It all goes back to the risk level Baker has assigned to soccer. By labeling it a high risk rather than a moderate risk, he has effectively eliminated all league games and tournaments. VB, FH and girls lacrosse were given a moderate risk rating so league play can be started there but no tournaments. Only golf and tennis, Pickleball etc we’re low risk so tournaments can be played.
Petition is asking Baker to change soccers risk level, which would allow league play to commence between teams within the state, instead of forcing them to go out of state to play.

Looks like Almost 3000 in less than 12 hours have. Be nice to get to 50,000 To show Baker we really need him to rethink his position on this.

I have signed, so should everyone else, but in the end this is more to do with us feeling like we tried. Baker will likely not change his stance because for some reason he feels he knows better than us. This goes one of three ways 1) no fall sports, 2) legal injunction 3) majority of youth parents bring their children to Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, New York and Connecticut to play their fall youth sports. This not only has a huge impact on the children social development but also a significant impact on the local Massachusetts economy.

The logic is nonexistent. Baker allows casinos full of elderly Chainsmokers to open but our young healthy population can’t play sports outdoor.

That is crazy if it's true. You can see deaths in the US and every type of cause right on the CDC website. Children are more likely to get struck by lightning than die of Covid.....based on the numbers.

Because they are acting as if they don't... otherwise kids would already be playing.

Think of the state that most of us live in. We created this.
