Probably doesn’t matter. The parent company of GPS, Legacy Sports, is swimming in debt and creditors filed to have them entered into Ch. 7 bankruptcy and liquidate assets. Anyone that gives GPS a dollar from this point forward may as well flush their money down the toilet. The suit also confirms that GPS HQ was, in fact raided last year for an investigation into immigration violations. I don’t know what, if any, effect this has on Surf, but GPS is toast.

This is old news--here is a link from March, that doesn't redirect you to a page that looks like it's trying to trick you installing malware. https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/yo...foul-at-15309/

Basically, it's an example of non-compete clauses and trade secrecy coming to the world of youth soccer (The complaint is essentially that two ex-GPS coaches who went to work for Surf, broke the law by taking with them contact info for GPS players, which GPS alleges is a "trade secret", and that an existing non-compete agreement means they can't work for a rival club. Of course, Surf is based out of California, and non-compete agreements are null and void under California law).

First GPS employee in connection with the Federal Investigation pled guilty to obstruction of justice and is likely headed to prison. Ship is sinking fast...

Man, these guys take this way too seriously. Turf wars and takeovers. It does explain how surf keeps gobbling up small clubs that are struggling. More kids = more cash.
