........All clubs should just give up and send players to ECNL teams.

The only ones that lose out are the local leagues that lose 4 more clubs in the NW. A lot of money to be made in pay to play soccer so it gets a crowded with organizations trying to get as much of that money as possible. Maybe the very best thing would be if the entire country went back to sports through the middle and high schools.

Our kids school district has middle school soccer. It’s a disaster. I watched 25 kids line up during warmups to dribble and take a shot with a single ball. The goal didn’t have a net, so each shot required a 30 yard chase to retrieve. Almost half the kids got off a single shot before the game started. Then, during the game, I heard the coach tell the kids “never backwards, always forward.” But yeah, GAL is the problem 🙄

Joining GAL just seems like they want to jump the line so they can immediately play in national tournaments. But even that makes no sense, maybe there's a little more visibility but if the general player level is sub-ECNL the coaches attending will be the same level they would normally see at their big tournaments anyway.
Is there there even an ECNL-R in the northwest? It seems to be an aspirational platform for the b teams of the ECNL clubs and maybe a few more that may start up next year, but is anyone really going to believe that beating the local clubs’ b teams is going to lead to promotion to an already full ECNL. Hard to see why that would be a better option for the clubs that chose GA (or others like Sound or Rush or Snohomish that are now set up to feed most of their top players to nearby clubs that are in ECNL or at least GA).

Isn’t this ECNL Composite? Given the ECNL teams in our state, composite composite teams are the RCL 1 level teams of 5 years ago rebranded.

Isn't composite to catch those younger kids left when teams fall apart due to graduating seniors? switch back to school year and composite disappears.

ECNL-R is the second level ECNL competition. Different from composite in that it is across all age groups and not limited to full ECNL clubs. It’s a combination of b teams, clubs that are hoping to get into ECNL at some point, and (this year) a holding pen for legends and beach while ECNL allowed other so cal clubs to recruit away their players in exchange for letting them in for next year. There are ECNL-r divisions up and running in Texas, Midwest and So Cal, but not in NW— maybe there will be one next year. Regardless, it’s probably not an attractive option for GA clubs or other stronger clubs in the region that aren’t already in ECNL or GA.

GA is finding a good niche to compete with ECNL-R leagues

Don't see an issue locally, RCL will be glad to lose them, less travel. Pspl will survive as only the A teams will leave the league.

Noticed at least 4 Reign refugees playing on the Eastside ECNL 04 team this past weekend, all starters. No wonder OL Reign had to combine their 03 and 04 teams.

Super sleuth here has found some of the former Reign players who left last spring and have been posted on the ECNL rosters for months. Reign has an 02/03 GA team comprised largely of players from Idaho who joined the club in the 19/20 season, along with returning players who stayed with the club and some new ones. They also have an 04 GA team, the core of which is returning DA players who were either on 04 DA or playing up with 03 DA last year, along with additions from inside and outside the club. In addition to the 02/03 and 04 Blue GA teams they have an 03/04 Red (B) team that will play in PSPL, as well as both Red and Blue/GA teams in all the other relevant age groups.

All these teams still undefeated? Tryouts in about a month.

The season is scheduled, such as any schedule is these days, to run into June. They don’t really do normal tryouts (and who knows whether anyone else will be this year either) — can always set up a session and get evaluated, which is of course largely true at most clubs apart from the rules in some leagues like ECNL and rcl restricting movement from one club to another during the season.

ECNL will have tryouts in a couple of months...so your saying that GA wont be holding trying at the same time? I guess they will take whatever players are left over, correct?
