Local club vs far away club

Why on God’s green earth, would parents drive a 12 year old from Broward to Orange County to play soccer? Isn’t the quality of play the same? Are recruiters looking at middle schoolers now?

Why do you care? Scared your kid is going to lose starting spot?

It really depends on what club they are playing with. If it is an opportunity to play for an MLS academy, then yes it is worth it. There can be multiple variables involved though.

You must be a great parent. Probably let’s your kid use profanity at the age of 11–because that’s what champions do. Amiright?! Lol

          1) if it’s a girl, it’s all ECNL
          2) if it’s a boy, Inter is right down the street

Tell me about the other variables

Yes college recruiters are constantly looking at middle schoolers to fill their future scholarships.

Great question for Mike Raskin to answer. BR is a nice little player for being very undersized but mom & dad have burned every bridge in the south florida soccer community so now they must drive little BR all the way to Orlando to play club. Eddie Johnson overselling himself as a street agent is also creating some issues

Eddie's players look amazing by themselves on instagram with no pressure. Once they are in games they don't look as good...

It’s not worth it for the “opportunity to play for an MLS academy.” This is laughable.

Eddie was a great athlete. The players I see on his Instagram are typically slower and undersized but great technically. Elite players need elite athleticism. EJ knows this but you can’t change genetics.

That family is still around? Yikes! Mom still operates the social media for the 08 daughter? They've been talking USWNT for little BR since she was a U7. Cray cray family. They destroyed every team the daughter has played on.

The way clubs operate here in Florida...It's a guarantee that some out of townee is on the team. It's like finding money on the street.

What age are you talking about ? Come back at 16. No one should drive 12 hours to Orange County for a 12 year old. Let the kid be a kid and enjoy his childhood. If he’s good at 16, there’s still plenty of time.
