Because many CA districts won't be open. Can't have sports with no school. As of now numbers look good for schools here, it's the sports part that remains in question. CT plans on sports, NJ also, NY has a 3 week delay start for sports

Unfortunately, there is little similarity here though. In Darwin's theory, the fittest and most adaptable of the species survive to proliferate. In the case of youth soccer, the largest, walmart clubs will make it through and the botiques will die out. The boutique clubs are where the masses of u-littles learn the game before moving to the uber-mega clubs. Now, all kids, from early ages, will be rank and file parts of the machine. Clubs will be hiring to fill their ranks and little thought to development.

They are cancelling early august, just holding off on the announcement until they get the league payments. HS is cancelled because they are scared

Pay close attention to MLB, NBA, NFL & NHL. If they can’t make it work you can forget club.

Of any of it, club is the only area with a shot to stay open. HS sports is circling the drain thanks to MLB. If highly paid professionals with seasons on the line can't stay away from parties, do you think HS kids will?

If clubs can run it will probably be practices and Ma only scrimmages. Better than nothing if HS is cancelled, but clubs will of course charge extra for that :)

NEP league is going to be strong this Fall given that HS Soccer is very likely to NOT happen. I really don't understand why schools are even wasting time/energy/resources on sports right now when they have so many more important aspects of "back to school" to work on.

Guaranteed contracts. That's why MLB players don't care. Plus MLB players are going from city to city. HS games are mostly within a 25 mile radius.

Busing is going to be another issue with sports. CDC guideline recommends 1 person per seat and skipping a row. Based on this a passenger bus can hold 14 students. So thats 2 buses for a varsity soccer team and 3 or 4 for football. Too expensive
