they can't price increase their way out of that mess. As it is UCONN has some of the higher instate tuitions around, and some kids get better deals with merit money from private schools. Hack everything down to the bare bones and no one wants to go there, making it worse.

CT leadership will revert to their standard solution...increase taxes!

Time for a serious conversation on the almost $500M endowment - yes I know portions are restricted - but UCONN borrowed hundreds of millions as part of a campaign under President Herbst's Next Generation UCONN.

Maybe it's time to refocus UCONN instead of all those "research" faculty who barely teach to get back to teaching and ask the hard question on the endowment. Yes I get the point that drawing from the endowment means less returns in the future - so perhaps borrow if that cost is less than the opportunity cost of the endowment (or put the endowment funds up as collateral to borrow).

"Next Generation Connecticut is a 10-year, $1.72 billion state investment dedicated to capital projects focused on building new scientific laboratories, purchasing advanced equipment, constructing new classrooms, and student housing. Next Generation Connecticut funds will also enable us to hire new faculty and expand the student body in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics"

Ask RI how those tolls are working out - COVID has put a halt on the lawsuit and the state is having to hold the funds in escrow..you can bet it would be the same unless CT puts it on ALL vehicles (RI is only certain trucks..) Good luck with that!

As of now, yes. The current Big East plan is to split into two divisions to limit travel (no flights).

Good idea and nice to see some creative solutions. They will have to rent a lot more buses for football but a soccer team can spread out.

Not sure about their plan for football, as they’re Independent and obviously not going by Big East rules. They cannot possibly bus to away games as soccer can.

Absolutely they can. More buses and only take the minimum

Hey dummy, they won’t be taking buses to away games for football. They’re not in the Big East as the OP stated already. Check their schedule.

I know, right? So funny, some people on here really aren’t too sharp. You mean they won’t be taking buses to Mississippi, San Jose or Illinois?

Multiple football conferences including Big 10 and Pac 12 are only going to play in conference games to limit travel. Others are considering doing the same. No way UCONN goes out to MS or CA for games this fall. Note the schedule is all TBD - game times would be set by now.

Every other team in the big East could forfeit the year and uconn still wouldn’t finish .500, that’s how bad they are

They are cursed...as long as jm plays cm, the will below league average in offensive stats
