The D1 dead period for women’s soccer recruiting is December 15-January 5.
D2 and D3 coaches can actively recruit though.
The Men’s program is not affected.
Orlando City and TBU have ECNL but no teams for the ECNL Composite event? Armada has no U18/19 ECNL Composite team and no U18/19 NPL girls team.
ECNL uses the composite event for newer clubs or non-competitive teams/clubs so that they play other similar teams/clubs. The Composite Event combines age groups to help teams be more competitive and showcase their better players in an atmosphere that is more competitive for evaluation by college coaches. Basically, if the ECNL feels you're not going to be competitive in most age groups for their Sanford Winter event, they made a composite event for another date for like teams/clubs.
Got through the Preseason, Labor Day and Columus Day tournaments. It's time to Showcase the team! Disney is coming and then what to sign the team up for next? Any other Showcases coming up that would be good to do without having to travel far?
NCAA website shows 95% of recruits are DA, 4% international players 1% high school for the top D1 programs. You want to go waste your gas chasing all these insignificant tournaments?

The older second teams at ecnl clubs such as the ones coming from Utah and Ohio are top notch. Around 30 99/00 Composite ecnl teams and other teams are descending on Florida’s Palm Coast and attending the NCAA women’s college cup finals.
Lower D1 through D3 colleges needing to fill their last spots for 2018 or 2019 should not miss out on attending the ECNL Composite showcase! It would be ideal to hold the event in January with the ECNL teams but the ECNL Composite players have no choice but to go where they are told to go for Showcases.

A month of Florida showcases!
November 17-24, US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional (Boca)
November 23-26, Disney Girls Soccer Showcase (Orlando)
December 1-3, ECNL Composite Showcase (Palm Coast, FL)
December 1-3, Women's College Cup-NCAA Finals (Orlando)
December 6-10, GDA Winter Showcase (Lakewood Ranch)
January 6-8, ECNL Winter Showcase (Sanford)
ECNL ought to move to late November or early December to make it a one shopping trip to Florida for the college coaches. Does anyone have the ECNL and GDA Florida Showcase dates for 2018-19?
Had ECNL done its showcase December 2-4 in Sanford, then the coaches could have had one day off before the GDA Showcase.
For the stars to all align then the two leagues would almost need to work together to set dates. What are the odds of that happening? Less than zero. So then someone has to call the first date and the late-comer has to chose around that. As GDA is still new I think next year more of the bugs will be worked out

They know when Disney is, CASL will be around the NCAA Cup date next year, and pick your dates for GDA and ECNL.

When you get up to the older ages, its hard to keep the girls together. At that point many are committed, many never will and the money drain becomes too much. Many clubs try and combine uncommitted playersto showcase them and give them a chance but its a cluster at that point.
ECNL needs to plan a Fall Showcase in North Carolina at this time. Include the ECNL Composite teams into one of the ECNL Showcases intead of having a separate ECNL Composite Event in Palm Coast. The ECNL Winter Showcase can remain in Florida in January.

Being committed or not doesn't factor into any decision a club makes when rostering a team. It is purely financial. More bodies = more money.
It would be better to have realistic discussions with players and parents to get them in some of the local ID camps. The club should have a college lesion that can speak to the colleges coaches directly before the players go or at the very least, the DOC.
Just and example but you get the drift:
"Hi Coach ****, this is Coach ***** from ***** FC. We have a couple players we'd like to send to you next camp, what needs are still looking to fill on you team".
