Originally posted by Unregistered View Post100% correct. Why should a businessman spend $1.5 million per year on DA and another $1.5 million to fund a USL 1 pro team with No return on Investment. The Only Home grown player Identified has just been traded and he played in the U20 World Cup and is only 20 years of age. Flavio is basically saying that local players are NOT good enough and why should I spend money on DA and USL 1 league is a second or third tier league if a player is good enough he would already be playing with MLS team so why spend millions when you don’t get a return on your investment.
USL 1 team gone= 2018 expense off balance sheet
US soccer DA Boys Program is gone = 2018 expense off balance sheet
US soccer DA Girls program will be gone soon but Flavio will not be paying a dime for the girls you can bet that and take to bank. By the way both DA girls head staff will be leaving for South Florida and frankly do not blame them one bit. The writing is on the wall. When Phil was here he found ways to take from Peter to pay Paul but Phil is no longer involved with Orlando City Pro or Youth side.
Expect More changes soon. OC will soon be just an MLS side and a small youth club with a big expense of a complex.

DA players are college level players from the United States of America and that’s funded with residential money paid by parents. This is no different then IMG or other residential programs around the USA. Parents are willing to pay for education with hopes of college money in return. If you attend MV and Pay $60 per year and get a full college soccer scholarship then it’s basically a break even. The Foreign based players at MV can not play in the US DA but instead they are pro prospects to be sold off down the road for profits. MV has set this business model up for success.

DA moves to MV for reasons of poor return on Investment. Poor coaches turn our poor players.
YouTube Mentons rant on His youth injury that prompted an exit from the game.

Would rather run off to Turkey and live a nice debauchery filled life and I blame him.
