Yes Sir , The only ones that happen to stick around are CM and GB ( the good ole boys). They play the politics card all too much and would not pick the best players , just whoever sucked up to them. They are reaping from their actions and not sure they really care.

This coming years DA will be the worst yet. OC would do good to get rid of the real root cause. They are finally learning that they can't do it alone with their favorites , they need to find the true local talent , and unfortunately much good talent prefer to stay away(MLS DA or not) .

Do we know who the new director is? agree, anybody they bring in, unless empowered to do what is needed and not set up by politics, will not succeed and that's a shame. There is such politics here..

Its kind of good actually . Maybe he will change his ways and really choose the best talent since his butt will be on the line now . Time will tell.

That can't be true. There is no way they are that stupid.

Its so easy to find reasons to why your child might not have made the DA teams, but always blame it on politics. That's much easier than admitting your child is not good enough. Its always someone's else fault.

The truth is, your kid has to be a cut above everyone else to make most of these DA teams. If they are only as good, or even just somewhat better than players with political connections, they're going to lose out. That's life. If your kid isn't that rare talent that a DA coach just can't turn away, then they're not going pro anyway, and will end up in the same place as those kids with the political connections after they exit the DA program, playing college soccer (or possibly no soccer at all). In the end, everyone ends up where they should, so no need to fret about the path taken to get there.

The problem with OC is simple. It is located in a ****hole part of the state.

My kid isn't good enough and that's fine. He's in the next level down and loves playing soccer. That's all that matters to me. However, I know many families that have kids who are definitely good enough, have been invited but haven't been interested in the age level teams that they've been invited to join because of the involvement in those teams of CM and GB. They plan to move over in the older age groups with different head coaches. Folks aren't comfortable with turning the development of their kid to those two. Justified or not, it's the way some people feel and its hurting OC.
