You do realize that not participating in National Signing Day does not mean that the kid is not going to play in college right? It is a ceremony meant for the school as much as it is for the player. The problem is, the school had almost zero impact on the development of any college bound soccer player.

The student got the grades, not the school. The student had no choice about which school to attend either as that was simnplbased on home

Bringing back a GDA player for 1 month is despicable to try to win the playoffs and get signing day recognition for the school. The GDA clubs can start having signing day at their club houses. What will the northern GDA players do for signing day when they can't join their high school teams for a month?

Don't be so upset. I'm sure your school still needs help at the concession stand and ticket collecting at the gate.

National Signing Day is for seniors and they sign their commitment letters. There is more than one date and each region's date typically aligns with the sport played.

Soccer's is Feb 7th through August 1st. Your hating aside, it is a school tradition.

If the kid doesn’t play HS then they do not participate in signing day. It does not matter if they play in GA, NC, or FL!

It's up to the school's athletic director. We've had two DA boys and they weren't in the school pick, but their club had one on the club website. HS athletes get pics in the paper and can send copies to grandma. Like someone said it's tradition, families like it, schools like it. If you want to walk away from HS sports there'll be some small pitfalls to that choice.

Depends on the school. Some will still honor the student regardless of if they play. If they played one year, the school may still do it. Again, its school tradition for the kids and so you can send paper clipping to grandma and grandpa.

Shouldn’t there be a consistent policy for high schools to follow? FHSAA drops the ball on everything and leaves it up to the individual school to decide if a student from the HS can sign at the HS. So all these GDA players have to keep kidsing arses to play two months late or to sign at the HS and get s picture in the paper!
