Change was needed. For 8 years we were sold on the " new normal" of below 3 % GDP growth, declines in key industries, a war on fossil fuels and the influx of billions into the ever negative results " green " industry where Progressive cronies looted the Treasury. Money printed ( QE ) that gave the illusion of growth, but that bill and interest will need to be addressed.
The nonsense about the possibility of adding $ 1 trillion to the deficit over 10 years seems to bother Democrats, however it didn't appear to be a problem when Nancy sent Barack's budget through with a $ 2.5 trillion deficit for the fiscal year. Crickets.
If you don't like what happened to America since 1980 economically, discarding the last 8 years, then you truly don't understand the relevance of what Reagan did. Remember Jimmy carter and his Presidency? Do you remember the military was so gutted that some planes couldn't even get off the ground. Regan had to dig America out from the damage done by Carter and the Democrats. And we have continued to dig out from the damage caused by Democrats, and yes, some Repubs including Reagan regarding the collapse of 2018. But the root of the problem is the obsession by Progressives to pull people up from the bottom rungs of the socio-economic ladder through pressure on lenders and gimmicks.Obama continued that mindset by placing 7 million on Medicaid , many able bodied, and added 10 million to SNAP. Do you think that is any way to grow and economy ? At least with tax breaks, you actually might have to work to see some benefits and changes in your life. Remember that Nancy Pelosi said unemployment checks help the economy ?
I am young enough to still think positively regarding the future of America since it is presently not in the hands of Progressives. I am old enough to say that I have lived through many economic environments, in several different businesses and endeavors living here in CT for over 40 years. It isn't easy, and it never wil be. Each day calls for reactions and strategies to address the winds of change.
All you need to do is spend some time in foreign countries to realize how good American really have it. Our " poor" , and now the middle class the MSM keeps letting us think are under attack by this Bill. The facts of the matter are that the "poor" as described here in America, live better lives than the average middle class European family.
That's one of the reasons why America has the longest line to get in and the shortest line to get out.
