Come out from under the rocks
You can set up a league to limit the use of punts but they happen.... a lot. Either because the goalie doesn't make fast enough decisions to distribute to a foot or because they can punt it to the other end and its instant offense. Also, the forwards close in too fast to make playing every ball out of the back impossible. Watch any u12 game with a decent goalie and you will see punts and breakaways. This is when its time to move to a bigger field.

I'll admit its not for every u12 league. Town teams that struggle to get goal kicks out of the box should stay small sided but at this transitional age the top leagues with the most athletic players would benefit playing full sided.

Absolutely there are times when putting is appropriate. Few GK, however, can accurately punt the ball to their players so then the ball is lost to the opponent.

Of course there are situational times in any soccer match where punting is preferred to rolling out, or playing out from the back. Both are necessary skills and tactical options. And no, it is not helpful for anyone’s development to have them volley the ball back-and-forth between keepers in a U12 game. Time to move to a big field.
This. This is why girls soccer is boring to watch.

As the margins get smaller (a higher level) whoever can recognize the play first/is better positioned will win the ball. There simply isn’t enough time between touches for speed to play such a big role.
This is actually the real reason why girls soccer is boring to watch. It’s nothing more than a chess game, played on a soccer field, with a whole lot of slow, unathletic girls who have a whole lot of smarts. Boys got game, the speed of play is much faster. Watching baseball is more exciting than watching girls slow jog up and down a field strategically passing the pall to one another.

You capture the essence of girls soccer.

I'd rather watch a game of technically skilled girls who move the ball vs the rugby match I see from teenage boys. Sure, the boys are faster and stronger, also bigger db's looking to hit someone. To each his own...

That makes no sense, and is a very American way of looking at the game. Faster speed of play requires more understanding, more tactics, and more chemistry between teammates. It's faster decision making, not faster running. The smarter players are the ones who play faster. You don't need to run fast to play soccer. Tactical play =! slow play. Tactical play =! passing backwards. Tactical play is choosing your moments, playing fast when you can, and keeping the ball when you can't. You don't see teams walking the ball into the box... they set it up slowly, get into position, and then combine, dribble, cross, or shoot quickly.

Please. Just watch any one of the girls DA games and you’ll see exactly the opposite of what you’re describing. At times the ball is being played while players are standing around, long balls being played. Very little action, just players moving the ball around sometimes like a game of keep away. Quite frankly, it’s dull and painful to watch, and I’d rather watch paint dry.

It’s boring because they’re not playing tactically. Never claimed they were. What you describe is called playing stupidly.
