I'm sure OCYS would like this idea over their YDL league as another option instead of GCF.

How many competitive teams are needed for SSSA membership consideration? Another tentacle of us club soccer testing limits of parents' pocketbooks?

Sounds like an unsustainable league! This new league will only be able to syphon off teams from lower leagues like the USA League. This will allow DOC's to once again oversell their club by telling parents, hey all the other small clubs in our area play in the USA League which is the worst league in the state, but we play in a state wide league that stresses development. Bottom line, just like the USA League, this is another league that is solely in place to pilfer funds from unknowing parents, since their kids will still be playing for bad clubs that lack the ability to properly train them.

what happened
how did this thread get absorbed into a previous thread? As a parent of a rising U11 this sounds interesting. Anybody know if enough clubs have applied for membership to become viable?

The previous poster is very incorrect in terms of the caliber of teams participating. This is not USA League redone.
My guess is this new league will eliminate CDL, as well as other smaller leagues.
Again, this is done outside of FYSA, so it will be run the correct way, taking all of the challenges & problems with the current structure & making it better.
Novel concept...

Sssa
Here's a quote from their web site
The Sunshine State*Soccer Association (SSSA)*was born from a desire to improve the soccer experience in the state of Florida. The SSSA is the only organization in the state that solely utilizes soccer professionals to make the decisions that impact soccer. Player development through proper club structure is emphasized so that players in Florida can mirror top development practices from around the world.
They are here to compete against FYSA, competition is good. Will be run by paid staff no volunteers. Goal is to overtake fysa as the main soccer authority in fl. They have leagues ID2, PDP,
If a club can't get into nil because they are not big enough SSSA is there to supply US Club sanctioned games, an alternative to FYSA leagues
Many clubs already signed up, going to be big this season
