This is considered a rescue?
DC needs a giant cleansing at its core. Start all over again. Run government like a business and jettison parts of it that arent working ie the Post Office.

GM and Chrysler should have gone under. Weak products and companies should not survive. That's economic evolution. Should we subsidize the Boston Globe or should we recognize the newspaper industry in the US is largely obsolete and anything can be found on-line. Have some faith in the Entrepeneurial ability of the US to replace these industries with the more relevant growth businesses. Borrowed money from China to create Public Work projects on our highways sounds right but it makes the problem much worse.
You want real economic recovery and jobs? Provide tax relief to the small and mid size businesses. They will hire and feel they can expand. They are the ones that provide most, if not all, of the true recovery jobs in this country. And, by the way, still pay the vast majority of taxes. Wake up!

Can you imagine the outcry from the left if that was Obama in the hangman's noose instead of Bush?

Though Hoffa’s hateful rhetoric does open a window for Americans into the true nature of extremist left-wing labor bosses, it does not engage thoughtful discussion on how to create jobs and get our economy moving again. The president should call out Hoffa and other union leaders for attacking their fellow Americans in this way, regardless of disagreements on how best to help our great nation. While he's at it, the President should question his own Vice President saying that labor activists are the only thing keeping the "barbarians" from the gates.

Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa had some profane, combative words for Republicans while warming up the crowd for President Obama in Detroit, Michigan on Monday.
"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war," Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.
"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong," Hoffa added.
Obama addressed the crowd shortly after Hoffa.
UPDATE: Obama Says He Is "Proud" Of Hoffa After Union Leader's Remarks
I am not anti labor by anybody's definition. The unions continue to live in the dreamworld that the Democrats are good and the Republicans are bad. IF the unions continue to live in their dreamworld, they and the middle class will cease to exist. The most anti-labor (union or non union) event to take place in the last 20 years was the passing of NAFTA and like free trade agreements. BUBBA Clinton could have stopped it cold but chose not to. So called labor super heroes Kennedy and Kerry also voted for NAFTA. Pat Buchannon(R) and Ross Perot(I) were against NAFTA but the rank and file continues to support the Democrats. Know your enemy people.
