Yes! We had 4 college coaches at our game. Surf is getting ECNL for sure. I’ve heard SUSA beat all the competition!

The college showcase was for the boys, the girls college showcase is in the Spring. This was just a couple of teams getting together for a tune up before the big Winter showcases.

Don’t you have to have more than like 6 teams to get ECNL? Is funny the way you snuck it in there though.

While this was a small tuneup event, apparently there were at least 100 college coaches registered to attend. Northeast ECNL/ECRL teams from NJ, NY, PA and CT were mostly there, plus NY Surf and 1-2 others. Definitely less formal than a regular showcase (no standings kept, only 1 ref per game, no cards or rosters checked), but a good event regardless.

If the caliber of college coaches that were listed as attending was an indication of the quality of soccer being played than it must have been (a) tremendous ( waste of time).

Mix of D1, D2 and D3 schools. Among the D1 schools were Princeton, UPenn, Columbia, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Seton Hall. D3 included NYU, Stevens, Haverford, TCNJ.

Yeah there were definitely some schools of interest, but at the end of the day for my kid and her team it was about getting back into a rhythm, incorporating some new players and reconnecting to the position she routinely plays with her club team, as opposed to the position and style she's been playing in HS for the last few months.
Like the other poster said, it was really more "friendlies" with no standings and minimal travel. Good prep for this upcoming showcase weekend.

and when that glorious day comes, the day she says yes to a great d1 school, and a chance to leave college with little or no student debt, rejoice and enjoy....because 6 months later she might say, Dad, I just don't want it, its not what I want to do for the next 4 years, sorry but no more....then you will know that pain....endlessly scouring your memories for when the moment switched, good luck....

Wouldn't put too much stock in the results at this thing. As others have pointed out, many of these teams are still trying to re-adjust from HS soccer to club soccer. For some teams, this was their first full games with some trying to integrate new players and/or new coaches. We have a friend whose D's team went with only 10 players because the team signed up last minute and most of the players had family commitments. Definitely an event meant as a tuneup for upcoming bigger tournaments.
