Teams had to be turned away because so many teams wanted to registered. The West Pines Classic and Weston Cup are in the top 5 of the biggest tournaments in the state. Get it out of your system and complain, but you will be back next year.

Top 5 tournament in size? Yes, it's a good mid-level tournament with multiple brackets for all of those rec teams to participate.

Showcase as advertised? Absolutely not.

Excellent facilities as advertised? Come on. You can't say that with a straight face.

Trees were damaged from the wind. The ground and associated fields were not. They were already in sh!t condition. Same as last year and the year before and the year before that.

Coral Springs doesn't have girls on their boys teams and Coral Springs didn't win anything. You may be talking about a different team.

22 teams entered from their own club. 2, yes only 2 made the finals.

This tournament is REC at best, will never be a highly ranked or rated tournament. It is awesome for u8-9-10 every year, let us stop there.

"Welcome to the next level". WP loves taking money from the parents that love to spend it.
Some of their teams were embarrassed over the weekend. Games shortened, crap medals and trophies, refs average at best.

Maybe you should think of putting on the tournament in a different month.

I think the book is now closed at West Pines United. Zero development, Zero coaching.
Their teams are just not competitive.

Hats off to Key Biscayne, Weston, PSG, Juve.. Your young teams look very good.

Miramar, West Pines, Davie...merge you just exist to exist $$$$$$$$$$.

problem is tournament depends on municipalities for field access. tournament is so big you are talking about numerous municipalities. municipalities shut down a field when there are 4 drops of rain at 11:30, and the fields stay closed all day even if its sunny at 3 pm.

when you sign up for this type of tournament, this is what happens. it is not WPU fault, it is part of playing in these type of tournaments. they are fundraisers like others say.

It would be much better to pick 2 other teams of your team's level, play 2-3 games at one facility over a Saturday (a "triangular"). Cost next to zero. Result from standpoint of player development: the same. Less stress to parents and all involved from absurd logistics.

This is easy to do and a no-brainer. it doesn't happen b/c these tournaments are fundraisers. Not about player development or parent satisfaction at all.

Sorry to break you the news but college coaches no longer go to "travel" tournaments unless its the Dallas or Jefferson Cup. Who are you kidding? If your child is not in a DA program where the college coaches show up to DA Showcases to recruit. Sorry to be honest and frank with you but your child will not be seen in ANY of the TRAVEL tournaments. Reality check my friend not even the POS Weston Cup where quality has been down year after year, it's a clown fest and giving your money to Weston. You must be new, college coaches at a travel tournament LOL this made my morning LOLOLOLOLOL!

That is a pretty sparse list, and quite inaccurate.

We have seen a lot of coaches at Bethesda and Las Vegas Mayor's Cup. Jefferson Cup was probably one of the best.

BTW medals are cool, but we know you did not get one so that is why you criticize because for those like us that won them they mean more than a piece of metal. but you know nothing of that.

Those of us who won't them? West Pines is heading in the wrong direction in the past few years and will continue to do so but for you to say we won't them. Did you play? Were you running out there? Nooo you brought your kid to play and sat on the sidelines where you shared a few wrong instructions to your kid and others. What you did was support your kid to play a sport and learn from it. Other than that, you had no influence. Therefore YOU didn't win crap. Your kid might have but you still the same idiot who needs to work on Monday. Glad you won your medal.
