Maybe it's that NPL disappeared and they are looking for high level soccer. WUP did have some good teams, some at the top of the NEP level.
Here's a schedule with a 2007G team, the only girls age group EDP is fielding at this level this fall, gives you some idea:

And/Or maybe the geography of clubs is such that a switch to EDP made some sense.
No doubt there are some non-soccer reasons behind these decisions. That's why these clubs have to spread so much negative info (looking at you Surf), that just reflects badly on those clubs for any parent with a clue.
Unfortunate for most of the WUP and Surf girls, though, because their girls teams could be playing competitive soccer in NEP this fall.Comment

So anyway, for the top U14 boys and girls teams it may make sense, just looking at the list of teams. For almost all the other kids at WUP, this is not working at all for them. Same at Surf.Comment

U13 pretty thin because of Mass gov's arbitrary bullsh!t rules keeping RI teams from coming in state. Frankly, those RI teams have benefited from that restriction. Because of the EDP mess, those “top teams” aren’t actually playing real games. Neither are tons of kids on lower tier teams at those clubs. But hey I’m sure having the top teams makes up for it.Comment
