Could it be that Ireland's healthcare system allows their 80+ population to die with dignity?
The average age of death in MA just for the last 2 weeks was 80. Since March its 83. This isn't really effecting kids. Sure there is the outlier story that gets rushed to front page, but far more people under 30 are dying from suicide.

Do you look at MA data?

7 day Positive test rate under 1% (and has been for awhile)
3 day deaths: 8 (yes... 8! The lowest over)
Deaths with known underlying conditions - 98.3% (Healthy people don't die from this, unlike the flu)

Do you know what stat they don't publish? Deaths by age. Why? Because that would screw up their petty tyrant gig. The average age of covid deaths in MA (when they did publish the number) was older than the average age of deaths by all causes.
Here’s a dumb question why would MYSA want to put these guidelines in that could lower the number of registered players in the state? You realize with fewer players registered the less money they have coming in?
It’s not BS they are following state guidelines. Do you think MYSA wanted to put together these guidelines? I’d just like to also point out that MYSA fought to get soccer changed to moderate so they could play games. If they were so crazy why wouldn’t they just leave soccer where the state classified it first?

Stop with the WH stuff. MA has high death counts because in the early days of the pandemic nobody took steps to protect the elderly and the virus ripped through nursing homes. Even 6 months later the lions share of the deaths remain from those early elderly deaths. Not blaming the nursing homes or Baker or the WH, at the time nobody knew the how’s and why’s of the virus’ death rate. Now we do and it’s not so scary anymore. Yet MA hasn’t scaled back on measures that the science show are unnecessary.

Why do any bureaucrats do what bureaucrats do? All if you points are valid, but there are also dumb answers to some of those dumb questions. It’s the dumbness that everyone is questioning. My hope is that MYSA caved in these issues to insure that we could have a season but are working behind the scenes to correct these dumb rules.

Sounds like a club employee losing a good chunk of change over this.

I'm a third man in on this thread but I'd echo the posters sentiments as a parent of a kid playing the game. The new rules are asinine. Yeah ... kids are going to catch covid from heading the friggin ball. The majority of the kids I've seen in games are playing with their masks down anyway. And club teams have been practicing together for months without incident .... and without masks until the recent change. Not sure why someone interested in moving past the silly rules needs to be a club employee.

New rules and masks are probably here for a while. Why?
You have not made a good argument or took a stand for not adopting these procedures. You allowed the mask to be put on your child. Whatever the cost to get them on the field and fees dads jones.

                  The opposition will.say;
                  1. Covid numbers are down since masking and the new rules. Why risk it or go back.
                  2. We must.keep these rules as flu season is upcoming, no need for the additional risk.
                  3. Outside a crazy soccer forum. eveyone seems fine with masking and the new rules, why not keep them? Seems many on this forum think the new rules are ok. Even a better cardio workout...ha.
                  4. Ive read on this forum. If you don't like the new rules and mask than your child simply does not have to participate. Thats a nice one.
                  5. Of course transmission concerns for those with cormodities is impossible to ignore, the rules and mask are the only acceptable compromise.

Kids who don't know how to play the ball, who just go after the opposing player, are at a complete loss with the new rules.

Correct, with an ahole dictator who has been lying since day 1.
And as long as the colleges are spreading the virus, nothing will or should change.
Stop worrying about your stupid games.

You shouldn’t even be on this site whoever you are as you obviously don’t even care about soccer.

going after the opposing player and going after the ball are the same thing. you cannot effectively tackle in soccer without some level of contact. in fact, it isn't safe to simply stick out your leg and try to poke the ball. players are taught not to do that except in specific circumstances because it isn't effective and results in injuries.

the reality is - playing soccer isn't how you catch the virus. the only measure that makes ANY real sense for soccer is reducing the protracted milling about prior to set pieces OR making the players put masks on if they are in the box defending set pieces. i wouldn't even do this but at least it's defensible, doesn't dramatically change the game and is easy to implement since there is a stoppage in play preceding set pieces. the rest of the changes are stupid and i can't imagine have stopped even a single case of virus transmission. no one's getting sick from heading a soccer ball in the course of play.

I have been involved with soccer for over 30 years.
Eat, sleep, breathe, coach, watch, support LiverpoolFC.
6mos of missed soccer will destroy nothing. Lying Prez will destroy all.
6mos of safe practice, get this covid under control and we won’t have to change the rules of the game.
But all the short sided idiots will ruin the game in their haste to have Sally play.
Take a season off, take a semester off and lets get it sorted. Short term destruction solves nothing: long term sanity will help all survive.

Pro sports took a few months off and they, for the most part, have made it work. We’re too ****inq stupid.
