Many top athletes in class of 2020 are obtaining approval to defer a year. This puts the recruiting class of 2021 on a slippery slope.

allowing these teams that have been training through Covid to register again through La Amistad?
The only reason a team is training is so they don’t have to refund the player fees.

If the players are getting together and playing that is different.

For all you who think they are going to die, they can get together in small groups.

Looks like OYSA made the right choice not allowing this guy in if he easily breaks rules and is not concerned about the safety of the kids. People have told me he is all about money and has been fired from a lot of clubs because of his behavior.

The OHA has all the re opening guidelines/requirements by industry & sector they break it down by each phase (baseline, 1 or 2) these are not articles, they are the law for the moment.

OSAA guidelines??? Beginning May 26, member schools control what they will allow to take place at their school facilities with athletic/activities programs, in accordance with directives from Governor Brown, the Oregon Heath Authority (OHA) and the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). ODE has clarified that the directive stating that school facilities are closed through June 30 should be interpreted to mean that school facilities are closed through the end of the school/contract year the OSAA also got rid of their summer moratorium week. Also their current spreadsheet phase 1 guidance is not intended to be prescriptive but rather to elicit thoughtful discussion at the local level among school administrators, coaches, parents, students and communities. Which means it's nothing more than food for thought. With clarity the OSAA stipulates that all Schools and coaches, per OSAA policy, participation in summer sports/activities may not be required.

Just keep the con men off the public rentable fields with 'privates' unless they have a valid permit + proof of their business participant liability insurance. Camps for kids on the other hand are up an running on some of these public fields because they check all the boxes; pay fees for usage, provide insurance & follow strict OHA requirements + they fall under the OHA summer camp category.
Sorry, you lost me at dufus.

I think that is the point, the kids are getting together and "training".

Thanks for sharing. None of the requirements are likely going to be implemented that involve hiring more people or spending money. Because the money doesn't exist. Page 2 of the document is more likely, with the "consider" and "encourage" points being implemented. People will simply need to decide if going to a public park is ok with themselves, and prepare accordingly if they plan to go.

I know a lot of Spring athletes are getting an extra year of eligibility, but I don't think soccer would be affected since it is a Fall sport. Assuming, of course, that they are able to start and play the upcoming season.

I can't imagine most coaches are letting incoming scholarship players defer and take a year off. Red-shirt maybe, but the oldest class will still graduate and have exhausted eligibility so scholarship numbers shouldn't be affected.

Athletic department cuts, especially for Men's programs, is probably a larger concern for players.

Is that an insult? or a just another tired response from a lazy millennial?

                                Same as it ever was.
