Except the idiots you are paying for 'training', during the stay home, save lives executive state order in the throws of a global pandemic.

Same as it ever was, for the Oregon con men.

Not sure who Lisa is. But Putnam HS turning a blind eye to the disgraceful behavior of their womens soccer head coach is the least surprising thing I've ever read on this site.

Quite simply, they are training so the club can charge the families. It is that simple.

Not Lisa. Why are so many people supporting this? If the parks are closed why try and practice there? Better yet, what are you trying to teach the kids of the county and state had it closed at the time as well? These handful.of trainings can't be more important than their character. Also, it should be concerning that at the ages of 17 and 18 that these players are still this reliant on their coach and haven't been prepared to train without him.

"trainings" are not required, completely optional, doesn't cost anything, voluntary, ad-hoc, small group, social distancing employed, helps with severe boredom and mental health concerns for teens, harmless, have you been to a portland park and seen the amount of people, families, small groups that are exercising and keeping their sanity, we've done a phenom job as a city, community in beating back covid, and teen girls exercising at a park with their friends is the least of our worries. and for that matter, all of the people using parks to exercise, hit balls, kick balls, shoot balls and train are completely fine with me so they don't lose their collective minds and result in a mental health pandemic. give me a friggin break Lisa. have some perspective.

Reliance is a big part of the plan.

also not lisa but find it disgusting your club thinks they can meet and train on closed fields in closed counties because YOU have deemed it ok because YOU think it’s harmless, YOUR kid is bored, YOU think this county has “beat back Covid” to satisfy YOUR standards and YOUR kid needs to see friends. ***. speaks volumes. if you feel so confident about this statement why not invite these teen girls over to your place to have fun exercising and kicking around balls???

Calm down Karen. Someone posted this link a few pages back. State says it’s okay to train in small groups if social distancing can be maintained.

OPs post reads more like concern is that they are setting up
team training camp on a field that is currently closed. Does OUFC have permits and is the field open? If so no biggie.

that's just it. there is no formal training happening. if a player wants to meet up at a park and train, they do so. no different than baseball players doing this, softball players, lacrosse players, football players. it's happening all over the city. and now, as of today, it's formally happening all over the State with coach's. and most parts of the country.

Not free, owed because no refund issued when the training cancelled in March, and the board member overseeing funds quit.
