Some did and some didn't. I don't think we know for sure how things will shake out yet. There may be more player movement after training starts again

When will Crossfire cancel their tournament. Saw that King County isn’t going to apply for Phase 2 for at least 2 more weeks.

Under King County’s modified phase 1, which was approved effective immediately, outdoor recreation is allowed at phase 2 levels (which include team practices in groups of 5). Based on the virus data, King County is already eligible for phase 2 with less than 25 cases per 100k for the past 14 days, although the state site doesn’t yet reflect that. Games and gatherings of 50 are allowed in phase 2, so XF challenge may be doable.

Link to the King County guidance that outdoor activities are at phase 2 levels, which under Gov Inslee’s Safe Start guidelines allow team sports training in groups of five plus one coach. https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/...afe-start.aspx

Julyish depending on age groups. Even if they can pull it off, I would doubt anyone is getting on a plane to play youth soccer. I'm surprised Surf hasn't cancelled yet but dolla dolla bills yall.

Considering no one has played games in months, it would be stupid to fly somewhere to play a tournament. Instead, why not go the old fashioned route and call up another club and arrange a scrimmage? I was never a fan of traveling tournaments for anything under U14. There's enough local talent and leagues in the state.

Clubs outside of king county are already training or start training next week. Clubs in king county are totally screwed. Rush just made it official they start back up.

Clubs in King County can start up too so not sure what you’re talking about.

Help me. I don’t see where organized sports is mentioned anywhere in the King County Phase 1.5 guidelines. “Outdoor Recreation” is horseback riding, paddle boarding, guided fishing, etc; not youth (or adult) sports.

As noted above and pasted here, outdoor activities in King County are as per phase 2.

“Outdoor recreation All activities may operate subject to Phase 2 guidance, part one, two and three.
Fitness All outdoor activities may operate subject to Phase 2 guidance, which limits the occupants to no more than five people outside of a household (excluding the instructor).Indoor fitness studios may operate subject to Phase 2 guidance but is limited to one on one activities only.”

And here’s what those linked state guidelines say about youth sports:

“Outdoor Youth Team Sports and Outdoor Adult Recreational Team Sports, Excluding School-Connected or Administered Team Sports and Junior Hockey
                        RESTART COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
                        • In Phase 2, team practice can resume if a) players are limited to groups of five in separate parts of the field, separated by a buffer zone and b) practice can follow social distancing of a minimum of five feet between players with no contact. Each league, organization, or club must publish and follow a “return to play” safety plan. Parents and household members must not congregate on the sidelines during practice.
                        • In Phase 3, teams can resume playing games. Total gathering at any one game cannot exceed 50 individuals. For sporting complexes with multiple fields or other playing surfaces, the 50- individual limit is counted on a per-field, not a per-complex basis.
                        • Nothing in these requirements should be read to obligate a facility owner to reopen a facility.“

So your interpretation is that youth sports falls under outdoor recreation or fitness definitions? You don’t think it’s weird they specifically mention go-carts, paddle boarding, tennis, etc., etc., but don’t mention soccer, baseball, volleyball, basketball?

The last guidance you linked pretty clearly differentiates “sporting activities” as a separate area. Hopefully it will be addressed soon in King County’s guidance, but it currrntly is not included.

Yes, that’s my reading and I think it’s 100% clear and not subject to reasonable debate. The King County modified phase 1 guidance on recreational activities is very general and refers over to the more specific state guidance on phase 2. The county says “all recreational activities” and “all outdoor activities” may be conducted in accordance with phase 2, and the state has issued guidance on a broad range of recreational activities, including organized youth sports. Hopefully rather than pestering people to call their local government officials, as WSYSA has done, people will just act reasonably and get going within the sensible, cautious guidelines the state has published and the clear guidance the county has already given rather than seeking and waiting for further micromanagement from the government.

Per guidance from Governor’s office (sent to PSPL):

Under Phase 2 of the Governor’s Plan concerning Recreation guidelines, “all outdoor recreation involving fewer than five (5) people outside your household (camping, beaches, etc.)” is allowed. However, Phase 2 Recreation guidelines do not include youth sports or other outdoor group sports and recreation activities at this time. Outdoor group sports and recreation activities for 5-50 participants will be allowed under Phase 3 of the Phased Approach Plan.
The ability to phase in certain sports and recreation activities is administered in accordance with the Phased Approach Plan. Whether County or local authorities permit access to their sports and recreation facilities, is a local decision and often requires additional components like liability insurance. Because outdoor group sports and recreation activities for 5-50 participants under the Phased Approach Plan are prohibited until Phase 3, it is unlikely that County or local authorities would permit access to their sports and recreation facilities at this time.
