Yeah, I know, it's not D1, and noting else matters...
LOL. 99% of the division doesn't operate the way you are saying these few do. They are the actual outliers in the group, not the other way around. They are like the community college program (D3) in that show Last Chance U. They beat up on the weak and relatively disorganized programs at their level because they put a disproportionate amount of emphasis relative to their peers on the sport but if you moved them up a level they would be hopelessly outmatched.

Sounds like the proud parent of a MCLA alum.

Damn proud I bet. They let you out of the psych ward again. Bummer, there was some actual discussion for a change while you were indisposed.

If only. Then maybe he wouldn't melt down every time discussion of NESCAC schools breaks out.

The NESCACs are Ivy wannabes and the parents who send their kids their are just face savers who have to posture away their kid's failure.

The pain you experience every day is very difficult to watch. Must be unbearable for your family.

What's a parent who sends his kid to MCLA when she could have done much better--after having first sent her to a fifth-tier D1 in his selfish pursuit of helicopter soccer dad bragging rights and some sports scholarship dollars? Talk about "failure"--parental failure, that is.

Last year they were in the NCAA tournament. This year they are off to an 0-5-1 start.

                        99% is a massive exaggeration.

There are a number of conferences which take D3 sports seriously, UAA, NESCAC, Centennial, Liberty, etc. Even in hte other conferences, there are many teams which are competitive.

Of course, there is a broad swath of D3 which does not pretend to be competitive.

No need to worry. Scheduled a tough early non-conference schedule. Will roll throgh the conferences as usual.

Even within those conferences there are schools that also do not pretend to be competitive and then there are those that are just not that good even though they try. While you can find the occasional good game between two programs that do take their sports seriously, over all, the level of competition is rather spotty with many lopsided games (like the Brandeis Women's 9-0 win over Regis). While 99% may have been a bit of a stretch it's really not all that far off. Remember that there are 400+ D3 programs. Once you get out of the top 10 in the rankings the quality of the teams seriously drops off and the number of flaws in teams increases so that swath is quite a bit wider than the NESCAC and UAA parents on this site often like to pretend.

One thing I've noticed with the D3 programs I've seen or know of is that the rosters of even the best teams tend to be very top heavy. They are dominated by a few very good players supported by 5-6 solid players, but the benches represent an enormous drop off. An injury to a top player results in a player in that spot who may not have even started on her high school team.

Maybe a stretch but not really that far off? Just more of your ridiculousness. How about telling us what motivates your hyperbole? Your hatred for families that feel good about sending their kids to good schools and also are happy with the athletic experiences at those schools?
