Not until the current DAP and Pre-DAP seasons end. Mid June.

Not until after the U14 showcase in Frisco, TX. I would venture to say July at the earliest.

Yes unlike all the other clubs they actually wait to have "tryouts" such as they are. But they already have a good idea of who they want

They were held already. Every time there is a training center.

Just like any other club with "tryouts" - they've been looking at kids for months and know who they want. It's rare for an unknown kid to come into "tryouts" and dazzle them. the name is just that - a name

So when in June are the tryouts? Are they on the Gillette field?

Ha ha ha. They may hold a tryout just don't expect them to watch it. They usually send their janitorial staff to oversee it.

Your attempt at sarcasm? Funny stuff, thing is, most kids would jump at the opportunity to play for one of their Academy teams. The Revs are New England's MLS franchise and the status associated with that is immeasurable. FC Boston Bolts and Seacoast don't have the same cache even though they play in the same league. It's not about the program being fully funded either. They are the New England Revolution, that alone will give them access to the very top players within their geographical spectrum. saying you play for NYCFC,NYRB, DC United, Philadelphia Union or any other MLS Youth system gives you instant cred versus a private academy outfit.

You're pretty much right. Revs staff have been going to playing fields all year long scouting prospective players. The "tryout" in June is basically one final sweep at maybe finding a sleeper but odds at discovering one, are slim. The soccer circle at age 14 and up becomes increasingly smaller. Hundreds of thousands of players play soccer in New England but to scout the top 70 for three teams isn't all that difficult if you think about it. It's a small world out there.

There's a boy at my son's high school that plays for the Revolution Academy(won't mention the name), but he's a virtual rock star among his peers/ teachers and even among the soccer coaches at the school, even knowing fully well that he will never play for them. They are in awe of him, so yes, there's definitely status attached to it. Even my son is in awe of him and quite honestly, this Revs Academy player is a bit of a jerk.
