Leave it at that and stop the sarcastic ridicule please. Maybe think about how tough it would be if your kid was in this situation (most of us with kids who have been playing for a while have been there).
I'm sorry, but you put your kid in this position. It's a horror show, and it's no better for anyone playing them. Driving some distance to trounce a team is a waste of a Sunday. Nobody gets anything out of it, and you expect the rest of us to be kind for your mistakes?

No thank you. Don't put a kid onto a team so they can get into a league just so you can say "NPL". It's not worth it. Put your kid on a team that plays in a league that is commensurate with their skillsets.

I am a supporter of what you are saying. A lot of this falls on the parents especially the ones in the higher level age groups who have wacthed this train wreck unfold. Unfortunately, these are the parents that drank the coolaide and hang everything on three letters NPL. At one time that was a good bet for this club but not any more. I think some of those parents recognize that but also stay out if comfort, because if they move their kid to another club maybe the harsh reality is they won't make a top level team at that other club.

Most of this ultimately falls on the management of Aztec. Greed has taken over rather than player development. They all know over there teams are being out played in the NPL at least on one side of the group. You also have to blame the coaching. The ones that have been around a long time. If they were so good than way can't they improve these teams? Is it lack of talent? Or their actual abilities? Or lack of caring?

I know everyone likes to blame Aztec for this, both the coaches and the players/parents, plenty of bitter folks out there. But if you take a step back, isn't this really a league issue? The requirement that a club has to enter a team for every age group is ridiculous. At some point, there are going to be certain birth years in some of these "founding" clubs that are just not strong for one reason or another. A club should have the leeway to pull one or two teams from that top NPL division and place them into a premier division when appropriate. If a founding club is consistently pulling teams from the NPL, or leaving them in unable to compete, the league should kick them out and they can enter their strongest teams through the new system, just as other non-founding clubs are doing. Why isn't the league stepping up to adjust the rules here?

I agree. We get it - you think Aztec sucks. Families didn't have to sign up. God knows you have been trying to tell anyone that will listen how bad they are.

                  Move on.

Good point.. It does fall on the league and hopefully someone will wake up and do something about this.

Seems like it's blame deflection, TBH. Like...you want the government to step in and outlaw sugary drinks because you can't figure out on your own that downing a 2-liter bottle of Mountain Dew every day will make you fat.

Bad analogy. The above would be only harming yourself. It's more like the government stepping in to outlaw smoking inside buildings. 2nd hand smoke is harmful to others, just like placing a non-competitive team in NPL is harming the development of other teams.

50% of the teams in the New England NPL are as good or better then the top NEP teams, but the others do not deserve to be there, 20% of the North East NPL teams are equal to the NEP top teams, this league is very week.

So if you do not want to commute to far the best place to be is in the top of the NEP or in the New England NPL....If you are the best in either of these two you will get good placement at most tournaments but if you are in the bottom you will not get any recognition and you are doing more harm then good to these players.

Unfortunately, it is both. A real good coach can do so much, but he or she needs some talent to stat with. Most of the talent has seen what they were involved in and they have made the decision to move on. Some of the coaches are below average as far as being able to develop players. LC and GC are in this category. Others can develop players, but they do not have much to work with. JB, JW, SF are in this above average category on the girls side.

I fell bad for the players who have parents that have put them in this very sad situation. It just is not right.
