This is really the key sentence. What it seems the Greek's conclusion is that they can't compete on the Men's side but they have a shot on the women's side so that's where they are going to put their resources. It will be good for our women because it means more paying soccer jobs overseas which ultimately will push up salaries in this country in order to keep the talent in the NWSL. If the US wants to remain a force in women's soccer the NWSL needs to become the EPL of the women's game and the only way it will become that is if the pay is for the middle and bottom flight talent is better than what can be found abroad.

          LADIES FOOTBALL: FEMALE SUPREMACY

Driven by a special development program and dissemination of UEFA, the «Women's Football Development», which has formally joined for at least six months, the EPO has put the women's football, as one of the main bets for the future.

The main objective of the Federation is present in all its dimension in Greek society the women's football, especially the girls in school, from the age of 6 years and older. Currently in Greece there are 85 recognized associations of which is active 40 of them. Athletes competing in these clubs is 1.300.

The objectives set, have been divided into immediate, medium, and long term.
The immediate objective of the EPO is in the next six months to twelve months to cause the world's interest and engage in the development process of women's football, as many girls and women can attract.

The medium-term objective, within one to three years, is to drastically increase the number of both clubs will be engaged in the development of women's football as the gymnasts. Ideally it would reach the number of active associations of the 40 currently operating at 400, with an average of 8 women's associations per local Union. In this context, the EPO intends to help with training programs, infrastructure operation programs, marketing programs, in order to be able in the future to continue to offer their services to the female football.

The long term goal, over three years to five years is a synthesis of all previous actions and stelechothounoi ethnic groups of all ages, so they can represent Greece deservedly in all major competitions with constant presence and, if this is achieved, even successes.
Among the efforts that have been put into the establishment plan of the EPO for the near future is to create school championships by age in Greece, creating summer camps under the supervision of our Federation. This will help to achieve the spread of the sport and, as it happens in boys at younger ages, each Union EPO to acquire its own Mixed Girls Team and Junior, in order to create the future and the corresponding female Championship of Mixed Teams Associations, and is big goal to create Academy within the EPO for girls who want to get involved with football.

Many smaller countries have demonstrated you don't have to have vast resources (in terms of money or population) to make effective changes. It takes a well managed, highly focused governing body and the will power to get it done.
